lol...SR is over rated. i dont think his KA is stock anyways. hes claiming 300+ whp so whats the problem. SR is over priced, over used and simply over rated. hes using what hes got and will make plenty of power with it. plus KA's are DIRT cheap and dime a dozen compared to SR.:D

*hulk hogan voice* Amen brother.
I'll try and go into WHY without making this an SR vs. KA thread.
KA's are dime a dozen. So you blow one up, who cares, just get another for a case of beer or two or three.
This KA has been at 300 rwhp STOCK internals for near 3 years of monthly track abuse. The compression is within factory specs to this day.
KA's came in everything, not just trucks. Sedans, trucks, wagons, 240's. To this day the 240sx KA powerplant is one of the only few that was made in japan, by short small eyed doods in white coats.
Personally i've driven stock through 400 hp SR's, and I can say I don't really like them much. Although the powerband is 'different' almost akward, I still feel like KA's provide more smiles per gallon, and at cheaper cost. Also as many of you may NOT know 300 rwhp SR's don't just happen, they take as much, if not MORE work then a 300 rwhp KA at double the cost.
I had many other options open to me (1JZ namely, but for god sake I had a 400 hp RB25 w/T3T4 SITTING in front of the car for a month), but the KA won out because a) I love them, and b) simplicity. Moving firewalls, adding tons of weight, and futzing with crossmembers is something I'd rather NOT do to my beloved BMW chassis(about the only thing I reallly love about e30s).
Here are some motor mounts.
Funny thing about this swap is, that the stock nissan transmission crossmember bolts into the bmw. You heard me BOLTS RIGHT UP LIKE IT BELONGS THERE.
