few teaser shots of the upcoming project

I wanted to wait until it's all done and completed but I am just 2 excited to hold the news any longer ! The project has finally started and should be completed by the end of March. I am not going to bore you with what it looked like before (plane Jane e30 cabrio), here is how it looks now ;)

excuse the quality, most of the pics taken with cell phone camera

    old m20 motor out

    engine bay shaved and prepped

    car partially disassembled

engine Bay painted Ferrari Red (the car will be painted the same color)

Rear conversion to 5 lug completed (waiting for new cross drilled rotors)

Bilstein's own version of 'racing suspension'

next step is Engine swap (waiting for few more parts)

then the body work, enterior work, etc...

it's going to be a long way from how it looked before to what I want it to look like...

this is how it's all started -

Do you ever turn your own wrenches or is this all "just sign your name here..." work? Just curious.

Progress! Did you find any more front fenders? More importantly, remember keep them away from FedEx???

I always think the same thing.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

yeah, Rui had the paint shop since day 1 in that building, it's at the end of the shop, a lot of interesting projects had come out of that spray booth.
They just finished Le Mans M5 blue 4 door widebody Jetta with R32 conversion, sick !

I used to... but with 3 project cars, 3 motorcycles, 3 family cars, boat, wife, kid, 2 cats, house and 1 day a week off - a project like this would take me years to complete, no matter how optimistic I would be. Such is life, I realize, regret and cherish it, everyday !

I guess I'll be the only one to say that I don't care for M3 cabs to begin with, but much less a repro/copy.
