      Some progress!

With help from a good friend, the S85 went in.
Only minor mechanical persuasion was needed

Will probably get it 2-3 cm lower and 4-5 cm further back.

      But so far so good.

There is some progress on the project. Picked up decatted & coated headers:

Bolted the DCT box to the engine:

              Attached the headers:

Quite a big piece for the E30 to swallow:

              My friend still smiling:

              In it goes:

Looks like the tunnel will not need any reshaping, swallows the box:

Smile was gone by this point since the hood would not close:

Took some adjustment & lowering of the engine, it now closes.

Next is to bring in some material and welding equipment to weld some brackets to the frame for the engine mounts to rest on. And fabricate a gearbox bracket, looks like the ones we have will not do.

Then the shell goes for media blasting.

Impressive that it actually fits inside the bay

Side note I just saw your signature and noticed the E39 with twin blowers, any more info on it?

It´s a car that I have had since 2005. The sc kit was installed in 2006.

                    Some info here:

After 11 years of daily driving it got a refresh:

                      Were the blowers a kit?

Yes from a company in Sweden called Alutech.
They are no longer in business.

A totally unplanned purchase for the project.
LM´s came up for sale locally - seem to fit quite nicely ;D

I just stumbled upon this thread and thought I would read about a nice E30 M3 being modified slightly into a track oriented car... what an awesome read and build. And the latest development is just wild! At the same time, seeing you're from Iceland, I'm not really surprised. You guys always push the limits in most things you do, whether it's banking or Off Road trucking :-) I used to work on a project here in Norway and part of that was to make end user documents for Arctic Trucks and their armored trucks. Truly amazing to witness how those guys went about doing things. Everything was possible, no matter the cost and challenges. And when I read this thread I thought about those armored Landcruisers hahaha...

                            Nice job mate..

You may be right, we tend to go overboard ;)
