Damn! All that work, I wouldn't have been able to bear not painting the entire car. How is the color match and blending?

Looks awesome, Chris. I like how you left the exposed CF on the underside of the hood.

Could you possibly get me a pic of the backside of the valence/lip so I can see how/where you mounted it?

tj, the color is pretty close. these guys are really picky about blending, so you shouldn't be able to tell. I really would have liked to paint the whole car, but it would have cost a lot more to do what I would want (have the whole car stripped down, engine bay and all) and it would have taken more time. I've already been without it for 3 months, I'm borrowing a 318iSlow from a friend, and I really want my car back. I'll probably do a full paint when I finish my degree and can take the time to do it properly.

I drilled holes with a 7/16 drill bit and used zip ties. worked perfectly on my old lip, it never came off even though I bottomed it out constantly and nailed many many cones. everyone freaks out and thinks you should bolt it on, but if you hit something hard enough that you'd break the zip ties, you're going to rip it off the bolts and fuck up your valance anyway. I'd rather just run over the lip and re-ziptie it on..

Yeah, I knew you used zip ties and that's what I was planning to use. Did you just mount them at all the standard clip attatchment locations?

            Good stuff.

Always liked the way you go about your stuff.

yeah.. 20 zip ties is plenty strong. it also gives a bit of room to move it around so it fits nicely. plus the eurostyle lip is much stronger and way more flexible than either the real Rieger lip or the copy I used to have.
