But how did you go from understeer to a spin in the first place?
I crashed my 345i (pictures inside)

quoted before tries to delete itThanks again guys. I'm toying with just fixing it myself now. I've explored every option... still need alot of time to think about it. It's going to cost me alot of work no matter what route i choose. I'm okay, but here's the story. it's not breathtaking, but whatever.
Just came back from the third eye blind concert in binghamton. It was about midnight on sunday night and I went with a couple friends to get taco bell. On our way back to the apartment, i took a turn way too fast.... You know how frontheavy my car is now... well i oversteered, then overcorrected and swung the back end around the other way and did a couple 360's. jumped a curb and ended up hitting a brick wall on teh q-panel not too far from where I lost control. The two friends in the car with me were ok, so I was relieved about that.
Immediately after the crash, the car stalled. I turned the key and it turned right on and I drove away. Nobody else was a witness. No cops, no other cars even saw me, so i had that advantage. Unfortunately, i did not have collision or they would've paid for the damages!! fuck. I've since driven the car to work and it works fine. No pinging/noises/rattles/shakes. The alignment is fine, so mechanically, the car is unchanged.
Yes, i was tipsy at the time. Big mistake. I can handle myself in my 325e, but not in the M30. It's too tempting and I have no inhibitions. I'm sure you guys all know what i'm talking about. I'm sure out of all the guys on this forum, i'm not the only person that drives home from the bars half in the bag every once in a while...
The story is not extravagant, I know.Comment

 Oh it just gets better.
It wasn't understeer.
It ended up in snap oversteer.
The ass end of your car isn't so light it'll swing because the front is so "heavy". Especially with 2(?) people in the back seat.
Further proof Baby Jesus hates roller paintjobs.
I'm willing to bet that your suspension is bent/twisted/tweaked if you went up over a curb...

It was kind of a blur and shit happens. I'll find some way to fix it. Probably going to part the car. Maybe i'm not cut out for this.Recent Rebranding!!

In my case, I understeered into a wicked off-camber turn with an elevation change. I use wicked in the sense of evil, not as a superlative.
The car started to plow, then after the crest of the hill, I continued to increase steering angle. Meanwhile I was getting closer and closer to the edge of the road. Also, my pants were filling up with shit.
I'm sure the front axle eventually got traction and at that point, the car was poised to veer left. FAST. And it did, but before doing so, smacked a tree. This all happened in a split second, so my recall probably isn't 100%. But it felt like an eternity. It was one of those surreal fight-or-flight moments that happen very rarely in one's life.
I haven't done anything retarded since. I drive like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles. And never under the influence.

No, the suspension on the car is perfectly fine. Nothing is out of alignment. i've driven it about 100 miles since and there are no change of behavior in the car.
Both rear tires hit the curb at the exact same time. It was pretty square I have no curb rash on the wheels, so in that respect, i got lucky too.Recent Rebranding!!

dude...
what ever you do, don't drop this shit into a cabrio. It would be a very, very, very stupid mistake. Drive your car how it is for a while, see if you can get some track time this summer, maybe do some drifting events, learn to drive a car with that much power, maybe tune it down a little-
You've jumped onto a raging bull, with no experience to tame it. If you drop your motor into a cabrio, you wont be going to many track events, and you probably will kill yourself in the end.

Seconded. You were driving drunk, you deserve what you got.
I guess that makes it ok then. And I assure you, I don't. And I'm willing to bet a lot less people than you think do.Originally posted by M3fan4evai'm not the only person that drives home from the bars half in the bag every once in a while
I've lost all sympathy for you.Last edited by Jand3rson; 04-25-2007, 07:07 AM.Comment

you know? fine. I deserve it. I was expecting to get shit for this. i know I made a mistake. My friends wanted me to take them for a drive so fine, i went out. I made a mistake and it's my mistake. I have nobody to be pissed off at but me..
You have to learn the hard way and I did. Everything that I worked for.. for 1 1/2 years is gone. All the late nights, 2 months of painting it, waiting for hundreds of parts to come in by mail, I turned every wrench on this stupid thing. Look i'm not looking for sympathy, nor do I care if i get it. I do realize I lost alot of respect on the forum, which is odd b/c i actually care about the forum. Everybody makes mistakes and the only one here who has to pay for them is me here. I've thought alot about this and i could fix it up, but I realize that I lost alot of credibility on the forum. have I learned my lesson? Hell yes. I will never drive even with a beer in me ever ever again.Recent Rebranding!!
