It is, that is why I'm suprised. A Z1 is an E30 based car for the most part. Just suprises me how many BMW lovers here don't know some of the more famous BMW designs. Ever heard of an M1? A 507? Hopefully when you hear 328 you don't think E46...

Half these kiddies weren't even born in 1988! I recall seeing a nice green one parked outside the Porsche museum - I took more pictures of it than anything inside!

There's at least 2 different ones in CA that I know of. One of them was at the BMW CCA oktoberfest LA a while back. Very trick looking car.

Vlad i know of a project one near me in germany that is for sale.

it's two cars kind-of. the owner wrecked his Z1, and bot the last complete body from BMW AG. it's still sitting in pieces, he's just lost intrest in it.

Oi, I drove a Z1 last year. Owner imported the Z1 into Canada many years ago, it came into the shop for the first and only time last year, along with his other two toys:

He also owned a pair of these. All registered and insured in Canada. I guess I'm pretty lucky to have driven all 3.

That steering wheel is awesome! and i do agree that it should have had the s14

                            love the m1s too
