That car is fucking sick. The coupe 86's are so much better looking than the hatches.Comment

I will see if I can make it out to the 22nd event. I am not working and that is before school starts up again.:: PNW Crew ::

Thats why I'm surprised that you're throwin' dorito's and knockin out taillights :)
Seriously though, I would wuss out if my car were straight and lift off the throttle...and if there's one thing I learned from Erick...Reminiscing...Comment

Don't even buy a turbo kit. Power is only for those skilled enough (and ballsy enough) to take wide enough lines to need power to carry it through. Just learn with what you've got.
The M20 is a great stock motor to start drifting on. Just save your money for suspension, a clutch, LSD, a bucket seat, TIRES, event entry fees, TIRES, some Sportmax's, TIRES, and Jack in the Box.Comment

^ What he said. Power really puts a hold on your learning, because it makes "the basic" stuff so easy. You end up not even challenging yourself. I was open diff, stock n/a for over a year before I commited to a turbo.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

What diff. are you running right now Erick? I'm wondering if I need to rebuild mine for higher lock-up or just keep it at the stock 25%.
Also, are you having any oil starvation problems in your M20 drifting? I hear that's a big issue with a lot of M20-powered track rats on left-hand sweepers.Comment

My motor's always been running strong and as far as I'm aware, S14s are the ones notorious for oil starvation. :p Something's up now, but it sounds like an electrical/ignition issue more than anything... but the motor still sounds strong. What diff. are you running right now Erick? As for the diff, I'm using a stock S2.93, which really isnt my cup of tea. Love it on the highway... and makes my car a highway monster, but for drifting it kills my 3rd gear as I can never get boost (unless I go suicidal) to keep the drift going. So I'm always stuck on 2nd for drifts, working my way around with ebrakes and clutch kicks.
I'm considering jumping back to a 3.73, but we'll see what happens.

PS: Hatch AE86 > Coupe AE86. Looks-wise. :)Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube
