Yeah, that's like getting advice from persek on.......................... dating/cars/life?
about the e30 diff: just pick up a 3.73 large case from any 325i and you will be good to go. What is the factory rear end on a rx-7?

Yea that's probably s14 w/ trans. still a healthy weight savings.
as scbeamer will tell you even an FC (turbo) with the 13bt will easily waste an e30. Stock FD makes 255hp/215tq that's a pretty healthy gain over the m20 or s14 just stock for stock. Single turbo setups get into the 400s.
Going to talk to Steve Osley tomorrow hopefully put together a time frame to get the keg assembled and get started with getting this thing in. I think he's in the middle of a 20b build so a lil busy right now. It's ok I can wait a while in order to save a bunch o' $$$$$$.
Just to clear a few things up:
1. Yes I have a 20b intercooler Steve found it in his crawlspace under his house. :) Slighty better than the PATHETIC FD one, i have one of those too.
2. Stock twins ( Non - sequential setup )
3. Stock ECU for now
4. No Emissions, no cat, no nada
5. Boost controller with mild setting planned
6. Stock FD trans
7. will need custom driveshaft
8. Need better Diff for rear end still
9. FD radiator fits perfectly got one for 20 bux.Leave a comment:

lol, yeah what you said, lol. since we're talking about rotaries, here's a pic of my fcDo you really mean "less than the S14 motor" or "less than the S14 motor and tranny?"
Either way, it would be very nice to see some hard numbers. I was looking into a 13B swap, but then decided to go with an M20 stroker since it just seemed like the rotary swap would involve a ton of custom fabrication...much more than I could handle, anyway. I wasn't sure if the 13B would be powerful and reliable enough to make the swap worth it.
However, if the 13B-REW with OEM twin-turbo setup fits the E30 engine bay without too much trouble and is really as light as you guys say, then I might have to seriously rethink my M20 stroker project!

Wow! This is really confusing..... I read you are putting a 13B in the car and want 290 out of it, no possible. Then i read with a 20B IC. Turbo charging an N/A 13B... not good. Now i read 13B-REW? What motor are you putting into this beast? Anyway you do it i am proud. Rotarys are my life. I have owned them sense i was 15 and have done 7-8 motor/tranny/turbo swaps in the past 3 years. It is sad to see that people flame rotarys and talk bad about them that have not actually worked with them. Ignorant people. Yes you see alot of rotarys fail because of poor tuning, mainly because of to much boost on a stock ECU. Go haltech. Your rotary will thank you. Good luck with this swap. I am so excited to see it completed.Leave a comment:

If that's true, then it's incredibly light. Please keep us updated!

I found a page that said the FD (firewall forward) engine, oil cooler etc but w/o trans adds 325 lbs to the car.
I'll weigh the 2 different setups m10 w/ trans vs 13b turbos and trans see which is lighterLeave a comment:

BTW, do you happen to know the weight of the 13B-REW with the twin-turbo assembly and all the associated plumbing? What about the tranny? I haven't found good numbers anywhere. I know that it's heavier than the 13B...but by how much?
My gut feeling is that a complete 13B-REW plus turbo and tranny should come in at under the weight of a complete S14 plus tranny. Maybe even close to the weight of a complete M10 plus tranny.
Any info you can share?
