ya at that price I really didn't hesitate to contact Dean and get a deposit to him. It will still take alotta dough to get it right, but i'm much further ahead with this car then I was with my cab in 2001.

So far it looks like I'll have the suspension sorted w/in 2wks, along with a front grill, exhaust, and engine management w/in a week or 2. Then all that's left is a driver sports seat, and rims to get this car to where I want it for now.

I do things a little differently here to save the client as much cash as possible. Currently I charge 40/hr to do whatever the client needs. Exhaust work and turbo fab has been my bread and butter. Price of stainless has been steadily rising and that affects the cost considerably. Parts on your system will be in the 350 range and I could probably put it together in around 10hours or less (really a guess, since there could be things you may want me to do in addition) so that is about as "ballpark" as I get. Give me a call (859) 814-1414 and we can chat about your project car!

Thanks DTRguy, but I had already dropped the car off this morning to have the exhaust done locally in Lexington..........Fast Enough Performance...perhaps you know of them??

I'll keep your phone number handy for any future needs. Thanks for chimin' in though.

I'm curious why you say that. If that car was on the west coast I would have bought it for $4k without hesitation. Just because someone claimed they could have gotten it for $3k in whatever condition it was in then doesn't mean $4k is a bad deal. A decent 325is sells for $3k or so without a turbo setup. It needs a few items to be perfect, but what 20 year old car doesn't? That's the fun part about buying a new project. :D

cheers fellas....well the new exhaust is up and I must say Chris @ Fast Performance did a great job. The welds are VERY nice, and the routing is perfect. The Borla sounds great, with that typical Borla sound for the M20 which I really dig.

We got it up on the dyno and during the run the engine all of the sudden went VERY lean. We thought it was due to the Vortech FMU, but later on after getting it off the dyno realized it was probably the O2 sensor that had fell out oOpS. This O2 sensor was only just placed in the mounting hole on the downpipe....just kinda dangling there, and I suppose with the new backpressure from the new exhaust setup it just blew right out when the boost came on at 3500rpm.

Anyhow, before we shut it down the engine hit 3500rpm at 4.9psi and reached 227rwhp....or it may have been 217rwhp...can't quite remember. We'll get the O2 sensor braced in there to dyno again tomorrow morning, while I wait for the dealer to get me a new sensor that can be screwed in to the mounting hole.

I'll try and remember to bring the camera to take some pics.

Hopefully tomorrow shows better fueling so I don't have to change the FMU.....fingers crossed!!

looks good - now ditch that FMU baloney and get full standalone EMS so you can make some REAL power. :)

hahhaha, come and install & tune MS for me and I'll be gravy.......till then I gotta figure out when and how I can find the time for that install in my only car :) I was leaning towards Haltech till the full price of install & tuning was brought up today.........not gonna happen now.

Seriously though, I doubt I will keep the turbo setup. The thing I love about the M20 is revvvvving the snot out of it in every gear...except first, and with the turbo I just can't do that.......wayyyy too much power. Once I get the O2 sensor fixed in place properly then I'll give it a couple weeks to see if it grows on me, but as of now I'd gladly take my 3.0L stroker over this any day of the week & twice on Sunday ;)
