1985 325e from beginning to now (56k warning)

I realized that I have never shared photos of my car with you all. So here it goes. First few are the pictures of it a few days before I bought it from the craiglist ad. First thing I did was paint the chrome and tuck the bumpers, and slowly being doing stuff to it until present.

    October 2007

    Jan 2008

Those are actually seats out of a 1991 Galant VR4.

    Angle comparison

    The experiment.

Booth and various stages of painting and disassembly.

    Today in the garage

Some photos this afternoon with WillisE30's clean as fuck s52'd '88 iS

Two tone was kind of an experiment and mostly an inside joke with friends involving cracked out bears, AE86s, and the panda sticker you can use in forza, but overall I think it turned out great. I am not a fan of white (I actually hate it), but this worked well with the bodylines. Have yet to give it a wetsand, polish and actually wash it. It will also get a red pinstripe down the tone split. Probably going to paint the wheels black to accent the wheel nuts and match the pinstripe. I still need to find some seats, install my plastic windows, harnesses, cage etc.. fuh-raze... etc. Also need to reinstall the trim, and clean up the front valence and fog lights.

Second car I have painted, with some much appreciated help from my room mate. Had issues getting it running, otherwise I was going to do it at work, but this worked out just as good. Not going for anything fancy, just want to make it a little more noticeable for when I start racing it seriously. For anyone interested, the black is John Deere Blitz Black, and it is fucking amazing and cheap, it went on kind of streaky, but that was user error on my behalf fucking up a good portion of what my room mate had done. The white is just some carquest single stage, if you use carquest paint DO NOT REDUCE IT. And only got that gem of advice after the job was done.

        you've completely decimated that car.

        obliterated.

did you chalk your sidewalls in the last pic for auto-X? or...is that just paint.

        A+ for effort I guess.

            Just paint.

Totally decimated... But, it was a $700 eta with a maaco job so bad that paint would chip off at freeway speed. I am happy with it, and it is going to get raced pretty hard, so I imagine it will look even worse. I just wanted fresh paint on it for summer.

                This is all budget.

I work at a shop, so the paint and materials were damn near free. Wheels were a craigslist score, a lot of cheaply scored parts leftover from Willis' s52 swap.

I will get a cleaner E30 later, but this is the ghetto ride for auto-x and track days.

The car was a roach from the get go. You guys really don't get it, which is part of why I like it. Yes it's an ugly ass POS that has been tin-canned but who cares? It was never a nice starting point and at this point it's pretty fun to drive.

the car pulls off the jankey 240 look pretty well. i prolly wouldn't of painted it tho.

everything should be cheap cept for the wheels/susp.

The r3v community speaks its droning words yet again. Does it piss people off that he tried something new? It's his car, I think it's done well. Congrats on a good looking car that took a risk being different.

I had no idea painting a POS eta was such sacrilege, they are pretty much the retarded step cousin of real 2.5's so I ran with it. Every decision I make from here on out is going to be strictly to piss r3v off. These guys are going to be really angry when I use spare DSM parts to make more power than them. :keke:

Truth. All I have left to do is sway bars, camber plates, and a freshening up of the rear bushings. Will also be getting some bigger tires, because 205's just do not cut it, and I HATE low profile crap.

Would like to get some coilovers, but meh, I am happy with my setup, it is just lame that is sits like a 4x4 after taking all the weight out.

It is. But it is like 200-300lbs lighters, so it went back to it's OG ride height. Plus the sidewalls are way to small.

I love all the haters. It really is too bad eta's are so rare and I ruined such a prestine model.
