Is it like the bumper bolts? Those are Torx bolts, that might be what the starter is mounted with too. Those are star patterned... so that's what I'm thinking...
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

The starter one is inverse torx, it's different.

I got the starter out today and replaced it with one I got from Strictly German and to my surprise, the car actually started!! It took a couple of tries to build up some fuel pressure because the car has been sitting for a year but it did crank up. I have to keep the throttle open a little or it will go dead. Does anyone know what that could be or do I just need to drive it for a little while since the engine has been hibernating.

Since the car runs I am thinking of cleaning it up and selling it as a full car. Parting out a car is just too much trouble for me right now. Removing, packaging, going to the post office daily, blah, I have too much homework. The car needs a valance, light switch, rewiring of the headlights, extreme detailing, and some other small things, but if I put a little money into it I might be able to sell for like $1500 - $2000.
