Yeah... I realized after I sent that, it might come across wrong. I fully support LGBTQ+ community, so I shouldn't be joking about it on a forum with people who don't know my actual intentions. I'll definitely go a different route with the bumper sticker.

Also... don't let anyone call you "woke" in a bad way. You're just being a good person, and being accepting of all people. It's the way people should act.

On a non-serious note... what is going on with those nails brother?!? Do you play guitar or something? If not, clip those claws!

Update # idk I lost count already...

started stripping down the interior of the donor car to get ready to swap over everything. got the dashboard pulled and holy fucking shit. whatever genius owned this car in the past absolutely hacked the wiring back there. So many bundles of SHIT spliced into the factory harnesss (plural), RANDOM ass splices, and some bulkhead connectors were depinned with added wires coming out of them??? who ever owned this in the past must of been smokin and experimenting with shit cuz wtf... like cmon save the rok smoking for the volvo owners.

so I decided to swap the wiring, since the wiring from the crashed car isnt fucked. gunna be a lot more work but I cannot in good conscience leave whats in there.

Anyways, the project is still moving... slowly. My circumstances may not be ideal, but im still showing up for it and It'll all be worth it in the end.

JasonWilson48 will most certainly be beating me on this one. that means I get to suffer the bumper sticker of doom and despair. Im fine with something queer as long as its funny, but All I ask is plz nothing queer that could potentially be interpreted as something negative. Sorry for being slightly woke, I hope that doesn't make me a buzzkill LOL

Also, I made way more progress on my car than I thought I would in the past few weeks. Spent some late nights out in the garage. Aiming to test drive this weekend. I'll start looking for a good bumper sticker to send you

you need to remove the glass, certainly to install the headliner in the new car. Keep in mind the headliner is glued around the sunroof opening. Pulling the glass isn't too hard. Use flat head to carefully lift out the joint caps from the lock strip. I recommend using the flat head perpendicular to the lock strip and digging it out from the side rather than forcing the flathead between the joint cap and lock strip. Then you can pull all of the lock strips out by hand. After the lockstrips are out you can use a trim tool to start to the lift the glass out, then get in the car and push it the rest of the way out by hand. Work slowly and avoid putting too much pressure in one spot to avoid cracking the glass. You can reuse the black seals if they are fine, which they likely will be. I have heard the new ones don't fit particularly well so if you damage one I would just get a used one from a part out. Reinstalling the glass is the reverse, but just make sure you use plenty of soapy water so you don't tear any of the seals. Also time to fix the defrost tabs or get the rear window tinted while you have the glass out if you want a truly perfect job.

carpet is ready to be pulled

so is headliner, except the windsheilds need to come out for the headliner. - does anyone have any ways around removing the glass or is it inevitable?

also if so, are the windsheild rubbers able to be reused? really not trying to get a new one for several hundred dollars.

gotta strip it from the donor car too, then swap everything over.

this part feels like an overwhelming amount of work, but the fact i've got it all stripped feels like huge progress.

While im in here im gunna upgrade all my pedal/throttle bushings.

If anyone is in PA not running antique plates, and thinks they will get it past them... the window of opportunity is here.

HAHAHAHA just read through that thread. That is great. I already have a custom antique plate. Would need to be another 4 letter/number combo. I don't think they would approve "C0CK", maybe "GBLR". However, I will get a COKGBLR bumper sticker for the loser. That's too good.

You could pull stuff off on the weekend, bring it home with you, and try selling it during the week since you can't work on the car during the week. I am doing something similar with my swap. Selling stuff you know you won't need as spares, can get you a few dollars here and there. Like sell that 4.10 open diff for like $50 or something. This will also help reduce clutter if you don't want to turn your friend's house into a scrap yard with parts laying everywhere.

The race is on. I have updates, but I need to upload/compile my photos from my phone and get it written up. Will most likely come this weekend. Good luck and God speed. I will be following.
Yea that was my exact plan.

unfortunate thing is I cant sell off the coilovers or the subframes right now because the crashed car needs to remain a roller for the time being, unless I could somehow find some blown suspension and front strut assemblies for dirt cheap or out of a trash can lol.

this weekend going to try and finish swapping the interior and wiring harnesses (new cars harnesses have some weird splices, eek. also not all the electronics work, so rather than diagnosis why not just take it all from the first car cuz I know it'll all work. Just my thoughts...) then hopefully overhaul the sunroof.

    other than that -

fixed the odo gears after class the other day
