For reference, this was the day the car was brought home in 2007. 74k miles, now has an estimated 90k, odo stopped in '10 at 82k, Carfax says it had 49k in '99. The interior is just the same (EDIT: Minus the Blaupunkt CD player), has tint since it is in FL, but has been parked inside most of it's life. Yes, that cheesy plate was on it the day it came home. This was the fateful afternoon I fell in love with e30's.

Had .102" (2.59mm) taken off the deck, I know the difference is 2mm, but wanted to bump the CR a little more. Based on rough measurements, it should be at 10:1 with an unshaven head and stock gasket (will get final numbers from the burette). Was playing around with the compression calculator in Dynomation and using the current head (-.015") and custom Cometic gasket (.050") the compression would be just over 11:1, but not sure if that's going to happen as the valve to piston clearance is already going to be an issue (specially with a cam).

Wasn't sold on the silver block so it was stripped before machining and painted good 'ol black.

Now to assemble the bottom end with used bearings, rod/main bolts and get to clay the chambers to see if the valve reliefs need to go bigger.

Pulled the e30 out of the rain and snapped a quick pic of the two before they meet for real lol.
