What sort of modding needs to be done to fit the ITBs?

Very.. I'm hoping I can find someone to fix this one or get a replacement somehow

On the motor side, adapter plates and probably some porting. The neck on the T-stat housing also needs to be modified to clear the TPS. In an e30, the stock plenums (e34 and e28/e24) will hit the brake booster. I haven't really figured that out yet but I think I may run them with just filters initially, then plan on building a plenum down the road. Also you need some sort of standalone engine management. I'll be running megasquirt, certainly not the best, but it's the cheapest.

Going to start updating this thread again. After tons of research, frustration and trial/error I have gotten the car running on megasquirt. Just working on idle/light throttle tuning right now mostly, but I'll be doing some road tuning this week and hopefully dyno tuning by next week. I've learned so much throughout the process though (still have tons more to learn) and I'm pretty confident my gains are going to be quite substantial, I can already tell that my motor was not running right at all on the motronic.

Cosmetically, still looking pretty much the same:

Yep, found an old school welder who was confident he could fix it and he did. Haven't had any problems.

Quick update from yesterday.. Got the auto-x wheels/tires mounted and the car is finally running a driving. Dropped it off at the dyno-tuner last night.

I'll be picking it up tonight, haven't really driven it in quite some time so I'm pretty excited

Hey! I bought an e30 from that driveway. Then sold it 6 months later like a total tool.

Great work so far. I've played around with tuning megasquirt just enough to have a pretty keen appreciation for what it would take to get something running "well." Congrats on that.

                            Keep the updates coming!

Thanks! Yeah Jamie should've never sold that e30, it was sweet car. He bought an e39 m5 but I wouldn't be surprised to see another e30 in the driveway eventually. The megasquirt has been a huge learning experience, which I knew it would be going into it. The fuel/ign maps look awesome now, but I still have to iron out some minor starting and idling issues. The car also has a 5k rpm break up thats preventing it from making all of the power it should be making. It put down 215/225 as it sits, but I'll probably gain a couple more when I figure out.

That's pretty damn good #'s to the wheels. Check your accel enrichments, they can cause missfires. Also did you modify the engine mounts?
                                Car looks super clean..!!
