I don't know, I totally pulled that out of my ass, but I could honestly see 15k for a 900whp setup, plus exchange rate...
What do you do with a 900hp e30? Break trannies and diffs. Duh.
Seriously, you do the same thing that you do with every other car. Make guys like Dick Mittens OP here have wet dreams while he's awake.Comment

I'd have said $30k might be a bit conservative. You're talking about some pretty big re-engineering to get 900rwhp from a SOHC 12v rattler that was born of a time when men were burly and women wore petticoats (except for the men like whattyo18stupidfuckingusername who undoubtedly would have been caught wearing his mothers' petticoats and giving tug-jobs and gobbies in boys' toilets).Pork Hunt Motorsport

I don't think it was really that expensive, it's basically down to careful selection of the turbo, cam, exhaust and tuning. of course I'm sure there were some trick bits on that engine, but there's really not that much you could spend on an M20 to cost $30k. Maybe I'll ask matias if he knows the cost..I'd have said $30k might be a bit conservative. I've been told that those huge HP M20s run titanium valves, springs and shit, which tends to cost a fair bit, but I think the real cost is in the headwork and the block prep.
I reckon you could build a 900hp M20 for $5k. It'd only last 30 sec though.Pork Hunt Motorsport

I kinda doubt titanium valves and springs (only really good for top fuel dragsters where they rebuild the engine every night). maybe rods. but now i'm curious.Comment

They get used in plenty of +700hp engines, Nando. I know of a few really big HP Jap cars (GT-R Skylines and Toojayzees) out here that use them, and its quite common in Jap time attack cars.
Hell, Z06 'Vettes had 'em from the factory so they can't be THAT exotic :p :DPork Hunt Motorsport

i know they are used, mostly in drag racing, but they're not really neccesary in an M20, or used often.. there are plenty of aftermarket springs available to handle even the most agressive race cams to 8000+rpm. They tend to fatigue faster as well.Comment
