Motor is starting to come together now. Just need the PS pump and im pretty much good to go.

Got my modified manifold from Castros

Wiring harness and oil pan gasket too

Can anyone confirm that this is the correct temp sensor I need from my M20? My M20 did not have a brown sensor.

Im really sorry Darin but I may have lied to you.

By now we all know what is about to happen.

I bought this NV M50 out of an E34 for the oil pan but I paid less than most oil pans alone go for. 244k but runs great and lots of maintenance including rebuilt head. Last owner had it for ten years before it got rear ended.

This is completely mental now. NV M50B25, M50B25 TU, M30B35, M20B25, M20B27. Once I get my swap done I will start clearing house though.

I am assuming this belt orientation is no good correct? I just cant see how I could possibly get the belt to go under the idler pulley. There is not enough slack.

You need to rotate the eccentric.

It has this little notch in it though that fits perfectly into this little indent in the alt so i thought you cant move it? Does the notch not matter?

Loosen it, rotate it, then slide the belt on, rotate it back and tighten it. Its a mechanical tensioner.

                          Massive success :p Thanks dude.

I missed the Borbets soo much that I put the rears on just so I could look at them while working on the M50

Finally found a home for the M30 so up and away it goes

My buddy from high school is going to rebuild it and put it in his 87 325i sedan.

                                Updates today!

Van Westervelt was kind enough to come plug in my wiring harness and give me some pointers.

Did my heater core safety bypass thing.

Engine is pretty much complete now.

                                M42 rad I picked up.

I plan to use this as a puller behind the M42 rad. The mfr claims it pulls 1600 CFM

The G260 I will be using. The output shaft seal was already replaced and I replaced the input shaft seal.

Replaced the fuel lines. Left some extra that I will trim once the engine is in.

I put all the wheels on and put the car on the ground. Looks more like a car again then some junk in my garage.

                                Reppin the NHK

                                Thats all for now.
