Took the pan off today. I was pleased to find the pan had more oil remaining than I had expected.

I also decided to wait on doing the AC on this car until I have it all together and running for a while. I dont want to complicate things from the beginning. If I still have the car by spring I will buy the AC adapter fittings and get it going.

I was also pleased to find the oil pump did not receive any damage.

Dont worry Darin this will be the last one I hope. I still have a lot of things to buy for it but I expect to get it running before the end of August.

          The garage

Pulled out all of the AC stuff and pressure washed the bay again

Why does this paint always flake off soo badly? Any ideas for new valvecover color?

Question gentlemen. What are these and does it look like I should replace them?

Turns out they are knock sensors. I forgot M50s had those.

There wont be any big six action for a long time if ever. I may tear the M30 down a bit to make sure its a good motor but not until the M50 car is done.

Pulled off the valve cover tonight. The gasket is the rubberish type so i can just reuse it right? I will probably just pressure wash the oil out of the valve cover for now until I can get my parts cleaner going. The cam looks pretty clean but is there anywhere I should check for wear?

Havent updated in a while. Got my 5sp pedal swap stuff yesterday. It was a bit of a PITA with the harness always in the way but it went better than expected.

I got the valve cover cleaned up and repainted. I expected it to be more of a silverish like the rest of the car but it turned out more like a primer gray.

I swapped springs between the swap car and the eta. Its weird to see the car like this when it used to be pretty low.

                            For comparison

that valve cover needs more prep before paint. It looks like its all peeling off already.

Its just the casting. It was pressure washed then sandblasted then pressure washed again. I probably could have sanded it smooth or something though.
