Glad to see someone doing an LS1 swap. This is definitely going to be my next swap.

You really think it's worth the $100 in for the CD from Garret, huh?

For us, the disc was worth the money. We are doing alot of things different, but their guide is a big help. Cheap insurance if nothing else

Good luck getting it started this weekend!

Report back on how you like HP tuners please. I need to be able to swap tunes for different classes and I've been looking at the HP tuner also, interested in how well it works.

Nope, haven't gotten it started yet

Were are still having issues with the wiring. The GTO harness has proven to be a pain in the ass. Its quite a bit different than the f body harness. I haven't been to the shop in a while. Hopefully I will have some good news soon.

Well alot has changed in the past couple of weeks. My friend Nick who is doing most of the work on the car, has split up with his partner at MCS. They have closed down the shop, and have been busy moving out. Needless to say not much progress has been made on my car.

This weekend, we moved the car to Nick's dad's shop, where the car will be completed. His shop is badass. Its out in the country, and he has every tool you can imagine.

                      Here is the shop.

view from out front of the shop

This saturday, we welded in some slotted dungeon motorsport trailing arm brackets, and swapped in new bushings. Now I should have plenty of rear camber and toe adjustment to play with!

Rather than cut most of the existing bracket off, we just opened the old bracket up so that we could weld the slider to the outsite. I think this will make for a sturdier setup.

notched the subframe bushing a bit to clear the bolt

rear end ready to go back in - Im in desperate need of some half shafts. PM me if you have some for sale.

Also, I have gotten some new parts in. :pimp:

                      Mishimoto 3.5" dual pass radiator.

Most of the parts of my brake setup from Lee Vuong at Massive.
(Im still missing front hats, hardware, and brackets)

We still have the wiring to work out, but for now we are gonna work on some of the fun stuff (exhaust and brakes)

                      -Matt

So, we made some progress this weekend. Finished up the exhaust

                          welded

Brought the car home to try and get a couple things done during the week.

I am having a hell of a time tring to get the half shafts out of the hubs. I have been banging the shit out of them. I heated up the hubs, and tried again, and still nothing. You guys have any ideas?

Bring it to a shop with a hydraulic press.

I've just endured the same woes of a stubborn halfshalf in hub. We tried everything you did, and put shortly - some are just fucking stubborn!

Edit: Awesome build BTW! :thumbs up:

^ Using a press can be kinda difficult with them still on the trailing arms.

however, you can get them out no problem with an air hammer.

subscribed. new found love for v8s and ls1s after finally having a v8

would heavily weigh v8 swap in 3 series versus turbo long term fun project. can't wait for vids
