Car is done and approved by the authority :)
So, here are some pictures!

RUUUUSSSSSTTTTTT

Making my own spacers to put behind the E36M3 brake disc

Made som extra so I could sell them :)

Made a cooling solution to the front brake discs, using the stock dust shields

Made the rear strut brace myself

First time out this year for a quick wash

The car on approval day

And after lowering and a good round of polishing

Got it done for me.
The lip on the subframe that is backwards was cut away and it was welded so it is completely flat. Then the sump was cutted to clear the subframe as well as extending it to take more oil. Sway bar mounts was cutted from another sub frame and welded onto the M3on as well as 5mm reinforcement plates on the motor mounts.
The pickup tube had to be bend a few millimeters back and cutted a bit to get the "hatch" on the oil pan over it.
When I bought the car I did not know much about E30M3, an I thought it was a nice color.
Now I can call me a enthusiast and I would never own a stock M3 ;) Can't think of any stock E30M3 color that I like eater. Mine is Alpineweiss original, and have been green before it is now custom blue.Leave a comment:

Since there was so little response I have not updated lately, but here are some.
Have received some parts and mounted some parts.
New gasket for caliper front and rear, E36M3 3.2l

New E28 wheel hubs

New waterpump

Mounted the new waterpump and the oilfilter console

And I found some slack in the vibration damper for the belt pully

I have also received a new brake booster, which should fit. But think the diameter is to big on this one as well. Here with the 325Ix booster on the left.

Thanks! I have a lot of pictures of the car, recently got some from a Norwegian car magazine photoshoot.
Well, exact same color you don't have, since mine is the only one in the world with the color ;)

Wow, this is what I want my car to look like one day. I have the exact same color on my car, just a bit brighter.
You must have put a pretty good amount of money into this car. :)
Have any more videos/photos?Leave a comment:

Nope, did not replace them. Did the same thing on my S14 TB's as well, and no issue with it.
After I had blasted them I spend an hour cleaning them with a very very good spray we use on work, it can be compared to Loctite Super Clean.
I did not "throttle" before I had cleaned the bearings a LOT with that spray and compressed air. After getting all the sand/glass out I lubed the bearings and moving parts with a WD-40 type lubrication.Leave a comment:

Well, there is progress in the shop. Oilpan has now been washed in a industrial washing machine and is clean and ready for welding.
I have spendt some time to clean dirt from the engine, witch is a lot! I have ordered a lot of parts. M20 motor mounts, e34 m5 3.6l tranny mounts, gaskets, o-rings and some gear shift parts.
The throttle bodies had to come off and have now been a trip into a media blast chamber.

Did you have to replace the INA roller bearings in the throttle bodies?
I blasted mine and got a bit of sand in some of them, they need replacing. Athough INA dont make them anymore. Where did you get yours from?Leave a comment:

Update time!!
Well, the project goes on! I'm updating on the Norwegian forum, so I might as well keep it alive her. It has happen some stuff since last time her.
I changed the 909Motorsport decal with BMW Motorsport.

Washed the car good and stored it away for the winter

Rims got stored inside

So, this winter will be upgrading to E36M3 3.2l brakes at front, KW Variant 2 "inox-line" coilovers, new oilfilter housing, new water pump and E28 servo hydraulic brake booster.

Removing asphalt mats inside car to save some weight!

And, a little detail on the rims

interesting ... We are just about to come into summer here with 25-32 degree c heat .. however on the odd warm 18-22 day we had here recently it was fine.
I still need to replace the switch tho .. its just wrong for application.
ahh yeap, I fine it perfect for my brakes (332mm fr 315mm rr) however I can see how some guys want more from it .. going hydrylic will defanitely give you that.
I drove a e48 m3 CSL recently with big Alcons and that thing was sooo touchy on the brakes at low speed. Almost too much
Cars going great, its very quick .. I had a race with a aston v8 vantage the other day .. owned that.
Here is a vid of a GoPro camera mounted on a Audi B5 RS4 and I have no problems pulling away from him on the straights (about half way through in the vid once warmed up) It was very wet that day and was my first time out on the track with the car so I was taking it easy at first. RS4 is better with AWD in the wet corners.
my car is the one pulling in front of him at the very start.
I have since installed a surge tank and secondary accumulator to counter fuel starvation in the long sweeping corners which ill post some picks of in my other thread later today. Its a must for a pre-facelift tank.Last edited by HybridNz; 10-08-2010, 11:58 AM.Leave a comment:

Nothing but the cheating at WOT when warm... I use the E36M3 3.0l single temp switch for the radiator fan.Nice work ... love how its all turned out! :) Have you come across any niggles while driving it ?
The only ones fro mine is I really need to go for a 2 stage temp switch for my radiator fan .. the single is a bit latent.
That and I have some minor exhaust work to do to center the back box a little better.
When driving my water temp is on the line between cold and straight up, my fan starts when the gauge needle is straight up. Have not have any problems with the cooling, even after hitting traffic in Germany after many hours on the Autobahn when it was 30-35 degree celcius.
And when I tracked it on the Ford meet I noticed that I got high oil temp, so I drove off the track and over to the HP washer. Started watering the oil cooler when engine was running but it did still not sink. So I put my hand on the oil cooler and noticed it was cold. So my thermostat for the oil cooler in the filter console is probably not working. So I have to source a new console before the next season.
Also considering taking the engine out for a inspection of the clutch and the modified parts. Also to check if the engine has been rubbing some place that I have not been aware of.
The Golf MK1 brake booster is too hard pedal for DD, works well on the track though. So I have sourced a servo hydraulic E28 brake booster that I'm going to use, I will probably also build E36M3 3.2l front suspension.
How is your car working? Saw a very wet vid of some women driving your car:giggle:Leave a comment:
