Have been thinking a lot the last week or so. There are a LOT of E30's that is going to run S54 in Norway and I have never fancy to go with the stream.
So, I will probably make a small dream I have had for years come true.
And that dream is a RB26DETT engine!Leave a comment:

Hello my friends! Long time no see again. I have had some serious issues this year, so the car have only got about 2000km. After the trackday I needed to change the harmonic damper, but when I pulled it off there was more things wrong there. I was bout to change the lower timing pulley when I descided that I'm going S54 instead. So I just dropped the tools and went to the Nürburgring as a passenger this year.
This is how it looked:

Nr1 crank bearing:

Before I pulled the engine I buildt a new exhaust, with X pipe and straight tips.

Also got a new set of Sport Evolution fiberglass front fenders for 2015

Long story short, I sold the S50B32 and is now waiting for the new S54B32 :D

BONUS Trackday pictures for attention
Overtaking this S62 E30 on the outside!

First track driving event is done with the new setup, I can't complain. The track we are driving is about 3250m long and was rebuildt and new opened in 2012. The German track designer Hermann Tilke is responsible for the desingn of this new and fast track.
Last year at the same event my car was a mess to drive, I struggled to get the lap time under 2 minutes. The tail was all over, is was unstable when braking, dipped on the nose when braking causing the rear to loose grip etc.
The first day I did a 1.49 lap the second lap with a passenger. After adjusting the damper settings on the Intrax, adjusting the air in the tires and kicking out the passenger I managed a 1:44.13 lap. I had a very good heat with all the laps was under 1:48, it was also some traffic on the track. I have a video that I can upload if it is of interest.
There was some issues on the way, but not big. Started of by bending the front fender with the tire when I was turing the car in the pit on sunday evening, then my new mid-silencer cracked, so I had to buy a new and change that one. Then the gearbox started to pop out from 3rd gear when driving on the road and the gearbox was unloaded. Then I got this noise from the front of the engine, just like it got a supercharger. Noticed the lower pulley was bouncing up and down, so probably the harmonic damper has failed.
So, we started to drive home. And when I was going into my garage the exhaust fell off, since the new silencer was hanging low it caught the edge of the concrete floor and fell off. When it fell off it flaired the left rear tire.....The Advan A048 tire yes! £260 for a new one.
ANYWAY, here are som photos from the trip and the event.
Fully packed E30M3, low on the rear

Valet parking outside the hotel....or not :P

We was renting a pit garage for the event, so unloaded all the stuff here the evening upon arrival

Met up with my friend from the more north vest of the country, and his Alpina B8 4.6

Monday morning 7:30am: Drivers meet with flag rules etc. You know, the same.

Shared garage with this beast of a E39M5. It has full buildt engine with forged internals and a supercharger. Putting out about 700hp. He is using it for drifting.

After some hours the sky opened and it rained A LOT

The weather was clear and hot the two next days, so I was getting a lot of time on the track.

One thing I love, is passing cars on the outside
