So I picked the car back up from the exhaust shop tonight. I don't have any photos of underneath but heres a few pics of the bay I took quickly after I got it off the trailer.
Basically it is now external gated & plumbed back, 3 inch dump to 3 inch magnaflow cat then split into twin 2.5 inch through 2x 12 inch hot dogs to a small twin muffler.
Overall I'm extremely happy with it & motivated to get some more done on it. The manifold Dump & rear housing is going to be removed in the coming weeks to get ceramic coated too.

So I've gotten a little bit of work done on the car yesterday.
Last week I got my Turbo drain welded into my sump along with sump baffles. So I chucked that all back on.
The dreaded profile gasket struck after we reasembled it during the rebuild and it had a slight leak so I had to replace this. Normally wouldnt be too difficult but because I now have a turbo and dump pipe occupying the real estate where I used to be able to remove the rocker cover I had to remove these first. So basically Removed the turbo & dump pipe, pulled the rocker cover & front cover to get to the Gasket.
Back together after fixing the gasket.
After that I modified the alternator bracket & spaced out the alternator so that it cleared all of the remote cooler braided lines. Then I got started on re-mounting my intercooler & radiator setup.
So far I'm pretty happy with how its coming along, its starting to look a lot more together than it has in a while. I also have majority of the parts required to finnish it on the way that should arrive before xmas. That would be all the intercooler piping, clamps & hosing required. A wideband guage, 54mm thick spal fan(my 16 inch davies craig is 110mm & wont fit anymore). Vaccum station & a few other various bits and peices.
This leaves the only thing left to do after that at get a Ecu & a tune & have some fun!

I mocked up my intercooler piping yesterday & did the intake pipe this morning. Its all at the stage of ready to go & get welded up & then I'll polish it all up to match the intake. I had 2 different types of pipe laying around here so its a bit of mix between black & polished at the moment.
Intake & hot side 2 inch.
Cold side 2.5 inch.
Engine Bay shot.
I'm still on xmas holidays at the moment so I'm tossing up about pulling the dash out to make it easier to put the new loom through for the Haltech Ps1000 & neaten up a bit of wiring and heap of other stuff. I've been putting this job off for quite a while so I figure I might do it while I have some spare time. Or at least get started on it.

So I figured it was time for a update. As it stands it is majority way together. Turbo feed & drain lines have been run, along with the radiator lines & the thermo fan is hooked up and working. Car has been run with the origonal airbox on and a few issues have arroused as they seem to do with these builds. First of all the oil drain wasn't at a steep enough angle so I had to modify that. Upon doing this I found that part of the CHRA Core had litterally broken off so it is impossible that it will hold boost.
This was a bit of a setback but I'll be ordering a brand new core for it next week. I've also ordered my MS3 from Dederic Motorsports with cop, electronic boost control, multiple maps and a few other things :)
Anyway heres a few pictures.
Initial setup before any of the Oil feed & drain lines were done.
Oil lines in and a general bit of a tidy up
Other side with Oil catch can in place.
Front end all back together. Pretty happy with how it looks, can't tell there is a intercooler lurking there unless your looking for it :)
Also borrowed my mates brand new mtech 1 wing to see how one would look on my car. Pretty sure that I'll definently be buying one of these in the near future :)

So things have had there ups and downs lately with the car so I thought I would do a update. Pulled my turbo apart a few weeks ago to locate the oil drain a bit better without the front housing on. But something came with the front housing that I didn't really like. A piece of the turbo core broke off and made the entire core useless because it wont hold pressure and will just become a big boost leak.
Here's a photo:
Anyway I got over that pretty quickly and ordered a new core from Japan. I figure that when the new one needs a rebuild I can straight swap over the rebuilt parts from the old core into the new one. About 5 days after ordering it I got it at my door.
New core fitted to front housing
Anyway after all of this I finally started to fit it all back up yesterday. Unfortunately since its all in a slightly different position due to the oil lines slightly hitting the cooler Piping I had a few fitment issues with the front pipe.
So this morning I was off to get the front pipe modified and a vacuum fitting welded to it so that I could run a line from the external wastegate as the Trust turbo doesn't have one fitting into the front housing.
Got it all in with the pipe modified, The front pipe is in a slightly different position to before but not to the extent of having to re-weld it. I'll be looking at getting that on tomorrow.
After all this on and off work that has happened replacing the core and screwing around with drain lines the side of the bay had a fair few scratches. This didn't bother me greatly as in the next year or so I plan to strip the entire car again and repaint it 100%.
So for the time being I thought I'd touch up the scratches that were there to tide me over until I respray the car. Luckily I had some paint left over from when we did the bay so it matched nicely.

Only a small update. I ordered a new K&N Filter that is a little bit smaller because the normal sized one would not fit and I also canned the idea of trying to put it down in the wheel well. I've decided to plumb up the BOV and run none for the time being and will plumb one back in a few weeks after I get the car running and can actually drive it to my mates to weld up rather than drive for 2 hours return trip only to find it won't actually work.
I also ran the vacuum line for the wastegate and plan to start running the other vacuum lines tomorrow afternoon most likely.

Not really a Update, but I had half a dozen e30 mates around this arvo so decided to drag it out and take it for a quick spin around the block. Turbo not plumbed in but it was good just to drive it again! Still waiting on the ECU which we've been having a heap of issues with that will hopefully get fixed soon.
One good thing about taking it for a spin is I know now it doesn't appear to have any oil leaks while under load so I can swap the bigger injectors in. do the finishing touches and just wait for the ECU.
