      Yes the 4 door one's do! The 4 door was for the S54 build, I still have it all stripped down. I'm gonna make it a street car in a few years. I still have the S54 engine and trans(and all the e30 swap parts) with only 17k if anyones is interested.

      The front subframe might pass because it still uses the factory mounting points.
      That subframe rule was from LAST year, I'm pretty sure they changed it.
      I don't think the rwd scion tc with a nascar V8 is using stock subframes.

      It needs work anyways, I need to hack up the rear part to make it work with the big block style AKG eye mounts. I also want to raise the control arm pickup point on the subframe to correct roll center. So I might be better off making a new one or modifying a stock one. Either way, I will make it work and it will have corrected roll center and the raised pickup point. I also have V8 mounts made to work with the stock subframe.

      I'm surprised no one asked where the engine mounts to that subframe!

      I'll explain later.

        Actually their more concerned with how fast your going around the track. The faster car will have an unfair advantage in tandem and thats why there's all the rules. They disqualified a good friend of mine in atlanta because after a tandem run they tested his tire softness below the required 49. ALL motorsports have rules to level out the playing field.

          Where does the engine mount to that subframe?

            It doesn't mount to the subframe, It mounts to a separate subframe that bolts up the four mounts under the framerails. It's kind of a cool setup, no crane needed to get the engine out, just a jack. But if those bolts go, there's nothing keeping your engine from falling to the ground except the trans mount! that's another reason I may change that back to a standard engine mounts on subframe design.

                  Yea, it looks like a stock e30 m3 turned into the hulk and came out of it's skin.

                  This project is getting crazy, Ari got crazy with the kit, Metrix Motorsport went nuts with the engine, Ed at Groma and I went nuts on the cage, and I've gone and am still going nuts with everything else I can. I've got to get back to mounting lexan. I'll have pics of that up tonight and hopefully the gauge cluster finished too.

                    Sorry, little late on answering some questions from page 2;

                    The diff is Metrix Motorsports progressive ramp diff with micro polished gears. I will be running a pump and cooler with it as well.

                    The engine is the bmw M62 4.4l V8 non vanos.

                            Yea a few more couldn't hurt, 24 isn't enough work to take that off.

                            Some do look like that, that one looks custom so I'm guessing not many look like that one. ITBs come in many shapes and forms. The one you have a picture of is one using an airbox like most standard road cars that have ITBs. The airbox in the picture is not well designed at is does not give an equal amount of air to all cylinders. A venturi type airbox like the E46 m3 csl works much better as it speeds up the air as it approaches the back cylinders to give a more even flow to all cylinders.

                            Most ITB setups don't use an airbox, most use open velocity stacks. Google pictures of individual throttle bodies and you will see the variety of setups used, some have huge long velocity stacks for more torque and some have tiny stacks for top end power. An airbox will add some torque and I may use one if the current setup does not yield enough torque.

                            Metrix Motorsport came up with the ITB setup, Rob used to race bikes back in the day and has tons of old motorcycle parts around. They did some searching around the shop and found a set if 8 ducati ITBs that are the right size. The 2 runners are from some random 4cyl mercedes diesel engine, they just happen to line up perfectly! Metrix only had one set of runners but they happened to have another one at the junk yard, and only one.
