Finished assembling the Head, and popped out them Freeze plugs. Not pictured, I polished the oil pan, and cleaned the oil pump, as well as the intake manifold and other bits n pieces.

holy shit... im on stock cams :( i gotta be able to drive mine in traffic tho. I need good vacuum and a stable idle. not sure if this can be had with an aggressive cam.
It seems like with cams you can only move the power either up top or down low, rather than spread the curve out, which can be done up to a certain point.
I donno, share some knowledge on this

Depends on your goals.
Stock Cams can work VERY well, however, you begin to top out rather quickly.
cams will definitley move the powerband, however, M42's have adjustable cam gears, so you can adjust the powerband either way. That being said, If you want a badass car your gonna have to care less about your Idle. With more Valve lift you can flow much more air, and rev much more freely. you dont need a hot cam however though, just find out when your Turbo starts spooling, apply powerband, think about how high you want to rev, and then look into cams.
with a m42 though, its easy to swap cams, so expirement freely. If you wanna play it safe, just get the same duration, with a higher lift.
In a 2002, a camshaft can make 50-100 HP difference in Forced induction applications.
