Nothing to see really, right now it's just a half-assembled engine. When I get all that stuff back from powdercoating and it's more put together, then I'll get some pics.

Here's a quick shot for now (Please excuse my garage, it is a FUCKING MESS):

Just use a satin spray paint to hide it. As long as there isn't 4 coats of thick paint on the radiator the cooling capacity shouldn't be affected too much.

You guys realize that pretty much EVERY radiator in existence before they started using plastic in them was painted black, correct?

Oh, I guess that makes it a good idea then. NM. I redact my previous statement.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

Just dropped my Getrag 260 off at a local place called German Transaxle, they're going to deep-clean and paint the bellhousing, and replace all of the seals.

There's a lot of stuff I'm happy to do myself, but some stuff I'd rather just pay someone else to do. My bellhousing looks like the aftermath of the BP disaster.

You paint your whole engine bay twice, but scrubbing your bellhousing with a brush and aluminum safe degreaser is too big of a job? One part citrus degreaser, one part water, stiff brush = clean transmission.

Damn it, you're out doing me on ridiculous over doing the e30 build. But at least you're doing it. I just sit and look at the car and make plans.

They're going to be resealing the whole thing, and they have one of those big-ass parts washers, so it's easier just to have them do it there. All they do is rebuild and service European transmissions, diffs and transfer cases. I'm really stoked to get it back, their stuff looks new when it comes back.

maybe I misread, but what brand paint did you use in engine bay? Id like to paint my brake booster the same color/texture

                    Please leave feedback below, thanks

                      It's DupliColor spray-in bedliner.

nothing better than forgetting that your car is 20+ old when looking, from underneath, at a clean ass transmission and etc.

Exactly. :D It just makes no sense to me that people do engine swaps, with all this stuff out of the car, the absolute perfect opportunity to clean everything, and put everything back in just as dirty and grimy.

So are they completely disassembling the tranny? I don't see how they can wash it all without it being taken apart.

Are they gonna take a look at syncros? BTW, anyone make/sell a tranny rebuild kit for 260's? Syncros, bearings, etc.

More pics too. You know just as well as everyone, any pics are good pics. I'll look at the same thing 5 times taken at different angles. Like your motor, that would've been at least 4 pics!

They are washing the whole exterior and then painting it silver, and will be doing a flush on the inside. They're not doing any internal stuff, that's big $$$. But my trusty 260 has never shown any issues, so I'm not worried. Seals for it will be here tomorrow, I should get it back Monday. All new seals and a full refill with Redline synthetic.

Here's a pic, they're just waiting on the seals to get here tomorrow:

Also got my new alternator yesterday, Greg once again kicks ass. And my new brake fluid expansion tank will be here probably Saturday. Pics tomorrow when I get some more stuff installed!
