Here you go baby birds, daddy's got some food for you...

Realized as I was unpacking parts, that I didn't need to have the A/C pulley done, since I'm not doing A/C. Do'h. More to come soon...

I'm so glad you kept with the red wrinkle instead of going silver. Looks great!

Same. As soon as I saw the sample tile hanging at the PC shop, I knew it would be perfect.

We have almost a complete engine. Just have to mount the arms, connect a few more wires, and attach all of the hoses. Once I have my clutch, it will be ready to go in.

The serpentine belt is on, and some other things are just temped on, like the thermostat housing (new gasket was bad), and the coil packs (didn't have time to get the spark plugs today), but I wanted to take a few quick pics.

Did you take any weight off the flywheel? Looks like it still has all the original mass.

I had them take everything off that was in the way of the oil pan, lost about 3 lbs or so there.

Removing all of the inner mass would have cost about another $60-100 more, and it's not really a big deal to me.

My passenger's side inner C.V. literally exploded during hard accelleration. The i half shafts have larger C.V. joints and longer bolts where they attatch to the diff. Just a heads up.
edit: here's a pic so you can kind of see the difference.

Looks good. I would say paint the crankshaft nub, along with the P/S and WP ones, something silver, but I bet you are already doing that.

EDIT: Any DOHC Type R stickers in the works?

Do late model halfshafts even fit in early hubs?

My eta is an 87 (10/86 production date) and they fit.

Honda Type R valve covers weren't what I was after, got the inspiration from Ferrari and Alfa covers. I know you were kidding, but it sucks that everyone associates wrinkle red with Honda and not with the others.

There's a difference between early and late model halfshafts/hubs? Can someone explain that to me? I thought they are all the same save for ABS/non

Good info to know, but I'm not swapping them for that reason.

Yan, thanks. Your car is part of the reason I love the combo of red/black so much.
