I'm glad you like the combination. I'm not sure because i haven't dyno'ed it yet. I love it though. pulls like crazy and a very fun car to drive. Been meaning to get a video. Recent pic before rolling out to a euro meet. The red e30 In the back is "NYBIMMERS" turbo m30 car.

Yes 17x8 et20. Your average RC090s. Tires are 215/40 with 1/2" spacers in front to clear the brake calipers.

Once I get the S38 in the e30 running 100% Ill pull the other s38 and sell the shell. Ill keep the other engine and 280 trans as a spare or for a later project. Im not sure who made the mounts. They came with the engine when I bought it. The engine was originally in someones e30 M3. Not running subframe spacers but will prob make some eventually. For now ill just run no hood and hope I dont attract unwanted attention.

Once I sort out the bugs definitely. Few things to do still.
    • Fix high idle
    • Get custom radiator hoses(the ones i rigged are temporary)
    • Install a fan
    • Resonance flap doesn't seem to be working.
    • Coolant gauge in cluster doesn't work (I have an aftermarket temp gauge installed but would be nice to have the one on the cluster functioning)

Thanks. Was admiring your build long before i had an s38. Big help

At the moment I'm still chasing electrical issues. The first s38 came with a 25 pin harness but to my surprise the M5 that I have now (build date 3/90) came with a 20 pin very similar to the M30 and even M20B25.

I was always under the impression that all s38s had the 25pin connector. Initially I thought I had a M30b35 harness which was good because I compared the two and found that they are nearly identical pinouts except for 3 and 10. I pulled out pin 8 and that was good enough for the engine to start and not have the harness melt. Sweet!
I have not connected pin 20 to anything and i'm certain that is why I don't have a functioning coolant gauge.

Air pump located just above the Ac compressor. From what i have read it pumps air into the exhaust manifold at start up to aid in reducing emissions. i don't plan on running it.

The resonance flap system I do plan to have working. Right now I don't get any movement from the actuator which i've read tells you if the flap is functioning. I have have to control unit plugged into the harness. http://www.bmw-m.net/techdata/m5engine.htm
