Yeah, he and I have become good buds since he started his swap... you'll see this one soon enough...:)

Yep he lives about a mile from me. Great guy. Props to both of you guys for even attempting such projects. Looking forward to seeing this beast in person!Leave a comment:

Thanks for taking the 2 hours to read through it! I hope to have some video of the start-up and tire smoke soon!
Ha... I almost bought the 6 speed you had for sale a while ago. I'm not down that way very often, but every now and then I run down for parts from Faulkner or MBZ of Lancaster. I only drive the E34 in the summertime, so you must have eagle eyes, lol! You know Justin, right? He speaks highly of the E30 guys down there. I'm sure we'll meet once I get this thing done and on the road. Thanks for the kudos... it's been a long project, but sooo worth it...

I knew it. I've seen you in your 540 a couple times around the millersville and manheim area. I have a soft spot for e34's and yours looks incredible
Oh, and your work on this e30 is greatness. You sir are doing it right.Leave a comment:

Mostly just electrical stuff lately... not much to look at and pretty un-exciting. I did wrap up the brake fluid circuits yesterday and got the reservoir mounted permanently. I still have to rebuild the 4 calipers, but the brake system is done, otherwise...
Oh, I've turned it many times already, but alas, nothing happens, lol! It'll be makin' smoke soon!
I'm not far off from being able to start it... just ordered the fuel pump setup today. C101 to X20 adapter is done, engine wiring is done, just need to mount the DME and relays...

So is this Hybrid engine setup tried and true? Or are you one of the first to attempt it? I probably missed it somewhere, but you are keeping the engine stock aside from the mixed components? Do you just run the factory OBD1 4.4 tune?
And I'm wondering, where have you done your reading about the v8 swap? It's not nearly as well documented as the 24v swap for obvious reasons, but I am very intrigued by it and I would like to do some research in to it. If you can let me know where you've found most of your reading material I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,

Thanks man, I'm honored that you subscribed to it and also honored by the compliments... I'm stoked the way it's come together and I don't think there are any major stumbling blocks to anticipate, so I "think" I can see the finish line...Garey, I subscribed to this thread a long ass time ago... so long that I can't even remember what I wrote. But I checked the thread and read the 20 or so pages that I was behind this weekend. I am floored at how it has turned out man! I know you don't want to get ahead of yourself, but you should be proud of where you are and what you've done to this point. Hopefully there aren't any big stumbling blocks between now and the finish line. I'm really anxious to see what kind of power you get from the hybrid.
The engine and pedal/brake/clutch setup are my favorite parts of the car. Love that hydraulic circuit you've made... Actually... those take second to the cage. I had forgotten completely about and I didn't even notice it when you posted pictures of the interior painted. It wasn't until someone mentioned the cage that I remembered that you'd concealed it so well.
Keep it up man, you're making good progress.
I know, I just wrote it like he wrote it for effect...
