Nice work Andrew. I have a nice dark green that we used on a Phantom II. It's PPG and a copy of the original color that was on the car.

      Got an early x-mas present:

This will be mounted in the center console instead of a normal stereo. I never listen to the radio and CD's suck, so I'm going to just run my MP3 player through this. Gives me a volume knob, sub control and 7v pre-outs.

Also, sent my intake manifold off to my cousin to get TIG welded. Hope to have it back in a few weeks.

        UPDATE TIME!

My intake manifold is all welded, but I am still waiting to get it back from my cousin. I am very anxious to get it back. :D

Worked on modifying some early model pull-style door handles to fit my late model. Also drilled out the rivet holding them together and replaced it with a custom made Chicago screw to remove any and all slop due to wear.

        Un-modified.

        All apart.

        Hole drilled out larger.

        Custom Chicago screw.

The bent/formed bar was cut off leaving 1/2" which was drilled and threaded. A bolt and lock nut will allow me to adjust as needed.

All the pieces are being painted right now. Pics to come later.

Also worked on the center console. I had originally just modified the stock one, but because the metal was so thin, it was next to impossible to fill in the radio hole, so I just made a new face all together:

Then removed most of the old center console.

        And welded the face on.

A molded vinyl/foam cover goes over this. I still need to enlarge the 3 center holes a bit and need to weld on tabs to hold the equalizer in place. Waiting on some tooling first though.

Finished the center console. Well, still need to glue on the vinyl cover, but the metal work is done.

Welded on some mounts for the equalizer. Also shows all the places I welded.

            Slotted holes for easy adjustment.

From left to right, the components are starter button, hazard lights switch, hazard lights indicator, cigar lighter, electric cooling fan indicator, blanking plate (will be cooling fan override switch) and the last hole is for a 3.5mm stereo jack to plug my MP3 player into.

Take this with a grain of salt, as it's just something I read on the internets when researching header design, but from what I understand having the primaries / flange slightly larger than the exhaust ports where they meet is a good thing, as it helps prevent reversion - spent exhaust gasses from entering the combustion chamber during overlap.

                  Awesome craftsmanship.

That drain bolt is M12x1.25, right? Have you picked up a magnetic one yet?

Can't remember off hand, but 12mm sounds right. Haven't picked up a magnetic plug yet.

                    Re-assembled the door handles:

Accidentally scratched one of them putting it together, so I had to re-paint it. :-x All is well now though.

Got my intake manifold back from my cousin who was welding it.

                      Injectors in place.

                      Fitted on motor.

All sanded smooth on the inside.

Fuel line on the right has plenty of clearance, one on the left will be bent to the left slightly to make room.

Mounting tabs and how they sit. They will be cut off and new ones welded on.

You can see here where I will utilize pre-existing holes to mount the rail to.

Also modified/cleaned up the M50 throttle body I got. Much cleaner looking now.

You can see where the throttle body heater lines were. I might trim the vacuum port off as well, but left it for now in case I need it.

I still need to figure out linkage for the throttle cable to attach to and operate properly, but that will be easy once everything is back in the car.

                                Nice work!

The square corner on the manifold's entry to each cylinder is going block a lot of airflow. A radius on that edge will make a huge improvement on airflow and does not have to be very big, anything 1/8" radius or larger will basically give you maximum flow.
