I already scrapped the m30afm. probably keep the 19 injectors since my MarkD chip is tuned for it. thought about doing miller MAF down the road! soon enough I have a feeling it will be purchased ;)

the oil cooler finally got finished today so I went and picked it up! I'm pretty pleased. They said my adapter fittings should be in tomorrow so the motor should be running by the end of the week! woohoo!

guys, I've hit an issue with air flow. I have two options and the amount of space is SLIM. This pertains to mounting the oil cooler and cooling fan. I can mount two ways.... From the firewall up:
Radiator/Cooling Fan/Oil Heat Exchanger OR.....
Radiator/Oil Heat Exchanger/Cooling Fan
Now, Option 1 issue I see...
The oil cooler cool comes extremely close to the cooling fan's center lock nut. 2nd issue with this option that comes up is flow characteristics.... Having the oil cooler in front of the fan will create a lot of wind turbulence between the radiator and oil cooler.
Benifits: Ease of installation/un-install. Turbulence will not hinder performance of vehicle aside from higher speed track events(which I rarely see since I'm an autoX guy... but still).
Mock up:
Option #2: Issues...
I will have to fabricate a bracket to mount the bottom of the cooling fan to the core support. Relatively speaking, there aren't very many mounting locations the top of the cooling fan as well. Installation will be a pain in the ass.
Benefits: Turbulence will be minimal, if at all.
Thoughts? Did I answer my own question? Am I trying to justify being lazy, lol? Fuck.

I actually started working on an rx7 project car and put the e30 on the back burner; but you documented this quite well with the high quality photos and all, that it was like a good read out of a magazine.

On the list....
Driver's side fender
Mount intake manifold
Figure out oil cooler location(ducting will be under way)
Run majority of harness
Mount t-body and possibly pipe

Driver's side fender is slightly pulled and rolled.
Worked on my aftermarket fan mount.
In the process of doing something "special" for my oil cooler location. ;)
I'll update more later tonight. :) :) :)

Gotta be honest.... I'm pretty fucking angry right now.... I fabbed up some brackets to run my oil cooler horizontal on the right side of the engine. My intentions were to make a ducting system out of 22 gauge steel and utilize the passenger side brake duct. Well, all went great except my angles were completely fucking wrong. I tried to make an angled box by cutting the sheet metal and using a "folding method". It ended in complete catastrophe and I wasted a good section of my brand spanking new cold roll steel. I have plenty left but it's supposed to be used for my cafe bike. I'm gonna try to get a hold of my welder/fabricator tomorrow and see if he can help, but chances are he's gonna flake. I may have to sacrafice more steel and go back to the drawing board. :( FML
First Bracket cut and mocked(Brackets are aluminum):
Second Bracket cut and mocked:
Third bracket cut. I utilized an old bolt hole on the block for the AC. Mock up done for placement:
Fucking tired and frustrated. The ducting box failure took up so much time. See ya in the morning. Happy Easter fuckers.
