Current Events

Now that all that is out of the way, lets get on with current events. I promise updates will be a little more consistant and "as they come"

First off, I found these for 20 bucks

Full set of early model mudflaps with no mounting hardware and the passenger side front is ripped.

How have you guys mounted these? I hear the factory method involves crappy clips...

During the test fit I noticed my spring was in upside down... Could this be why my car always squeaks on this corner? Every little bump sounds like a chick chirping :firehop:



Probably just need new bushings...

I've been busy with school and went on a roadtrip, didn't get to update plus I didn't do much until the last 2 weeks :P

But here's some updates

Been thinking about selling the car actually, I want to get in to a w124, 400e/e420 so the car will most likely be up for sale soon :/

I did solve an idle and hard-start issue, just need to button up some vacuum leaks and she will be golden

Thinking about spray painting since I am currently still jobless so I sanded and sprayed a portion of my spare trunk to see if I liked the color

Satin Burgundy sprayed over 220 grit... Not a good idea; I wasn't thinking straight

Looks ok from far but really a terrible finish. I'll try again with 600 grit

Also Re-did my shadowline . Only had one side done in plastidip but it stared chipping and flaking so tackled it yesterday morning

Haven't done much, went out last week and got a a very nice quote on vinyl wrapping my car :evil:

Also went to the junk yard and pulled a sweet intake boot

Funny how I came across it... Saw an 88 with the engine missing. Went around to look inside and there is the whole intake manifold with everything I need just sitting there looking new and shiny O___O

Question: Do I have the right throttle body? The top Vaccum hose thing doesn't fit in to the top slot for it, no amount of hammering and shaving will get it to fit. It is also blocked off; could this be the reason for slipping brake pedal? (hold brake and it brings you to a stop; after a few seconds it loosens up and the brake firmness decrease; have to push the pedal in further.)

Hey nick, havent seen this thread in a very long time and it looks like its coming together nicely. I personally wouldnt sell the E30, but Im an E30 fan. If you do decide to sell it, let me get those wheels ;)

Thanks man, and yeah my parents are really sick of the car too so it's a little bit of win-win if I get rid of it lol

As for the wheels they aren't 100% mine so don't hold your breath on them :P

2) roller blades?
3) how old are you? this car is coming out great as it is, but it's extra impressive because you're young (right??) and doing this so methodically and correctly. A+

just get that trunk painted and it'll be great.

ps. pics of the highbeams at night? I haven't seen that

hahaha thanks man! I just turned 20 on August 3rd :)

It's funny, every unsuspecting stranger that turns in to what they find out to be a culdesac is always riding bikes with their family and the first thing their kids will say is "Daddy look at the castle!!"

While somewhat cool looking, that castle-like turret or what ever you call it is also the biggest waste of space in the house lol

Blades might be a no go but I'm still hoping for teh best haha Need adapters still

It's been a long project, started when I was 17 and the engine swap pretty much threw me in to doing the big stuff. Still a whole lot more to do for it to get even a "B" score but it's probably at a solid C+ haha

Yeah, it was a big photo dump that I decided to finish up more recently lol Sorry if that was misleading. Finished the swap a few months before turning 18 ;)
