Hey.., it took me like 14 weeks to go from non running car to running one.

Granted it rains here alot and I dont have a garage. And full time HS

but I finished it. I didnt break any bolts though :P

Seems to me that it goes camshaft, then seals. Thats why it says to put the tape over the front of the camshaft, I assume. Just do it with cautions so you don't roll the lip of the seal or gauge or scar it or the mating surfaces

mine has folds...... ill have to do* somethign about that....


i used plenty of assembly lube.

i snapped one of the cam seal bolts....
today i bought an easy out with corresponding drill bit size. the easy out snapped in the bolt TWICE.




fucking BS..... the second time i used a chuck too, with barely any pressure on the chuck. the bit was much too hardened obviously and failed its job.
then the machinist's in town said it would cost me 100 or so to get it out, and there was no guarantee.

I had the same problem with an easy out try to pull out a trans mount bolt on my jeep. Had my dad take it to a machinist while I was at class and he got it at pretty quickly. It takes a carbide bit to drill through the easy out since they are hardened steel. I had used one of the smaller easy out that I had as I figured it would work fine but after the first one broke, I bought one of the larger easy outs and that worked loads better.

yeah thats my problem is im at the largest easy out that will fit it since its an M6.
but luckily my friend who has access to a machine shop will take a look at it with me tmw and see if he thinks he can do anything.

just picked up an eta head for free from a local member names josh (username: siggy), awesome! very nice of him, and his alpine early model is CLEAAAN

the car it was on ran fine, but im still gonna double check that it is flat and might get it decked....
we will see how this goes, but im throwing it on the car soon.
