@lolcantturn on your original blown hg car did you scotch brite the block and just run it like that?

yeah I cleaned the head and the block with scotchbrite and new HG and headbolts of course. head was straight and no cracks

Just do it, and do what I said just to get some/most out. After all it is just an eta motor. I also have that other bottom end if you ever want to buy it ;) You can put an 885 head and shit on it.

on my 17th birthday i bought my first e30 and never wrenched on a car before (never even changed a spare), drove it home and the HG blew, parked it in front of my house (no garage), read up on the forums and knew that the HG blew, went that night to pick up a Bentley at Autozone, went to school the next morning (high school junior), studied the Cylinder head section for an entire period, got home, went to the mom and pop's auto shop where they had a M20 HG kit conveniently and timing belt kit, slapped it on (head was straight), drove e30 next night after headbolts came in. M20 lasted 8000 miles before I went M50


so yeah this is pretty pathetic.

Just in the time of this thread at 100 a month youd have something nicer than a 325 e thats running.

Dont throw money into fixing the car its just going to break down again. part it out for something you dont have to work on.

For real its not your thing. And why should it be? Theres nothing wrong with that, thats good. When Ive got my act together I never work on cars I have mexicans and derelicts that do that for me. just exposes your body to toxic cancer causing crap.



Just get something running you dont have to work on and its good. Get better at parting a car, part that one out. God knows you have a spot to do it.
