I disconnected power steering on one of my e30's and it's great.. under 5 mph you get a little extra exercise and over 5mph it feels great with more feedback from the road.

Advantages of PS-delete:- You don't have to worry about the inevitable leaks and whining sounds and deadspots which will happen even if you replace all the seals and lines.
- Better road feel.
- Increase in power and efficiency at every rpm albeit this is a small increase.
- Small decrease in weight.
- Cleaner, less cluttered engine bay.
- More manly
Disadvantages of PS-delete:- It's a little harder to turn the wheel when stopped or when going very very slow (less than 5mph)
