So only way to get turbo off will be to get a long drill bit that can clear the CHRA of the turbo, drill the head off the bolt, pull turbo off, then weld a nut to the stub thats left and remove the broken bolt.

new gasket, new bolts, anti sieze, lock washers? I was using nuts that have that biting edge but not sure if they work well enough.

This explains why my AFR was reading lean, why there was exhaust soot stains on my hood and my hood was getting so hot.

I've been contemplating using anti-seize on my turbo to manifold bolts....I've retapped the hole on the manifold a couple times now, and it seems to always be the same bolt.....are you torquing to any specific number?

Welp more bad news after 5 more hrs of work, after putting the e30 back together I once again knocked the flywheel loose during a pull.

Selling Turbo setup, removing and rebuilding M30

For now I need someone to sell me an m20.

Simplicity is king, if I wanted something fancy i wouldnt be building an e30.

Good thing I added that muffler that ill never hear, good thing I put gold foil on that hood thatll never be hot, good things I installed those new motor mounts I now have to remove. ~ Poop on life~ a poem by kameron

Wow. If you can afford to I would just taks a step back gather your thoughts and reevaluate. So close to being a good setup. This reminds me of a 455 72 Cutlass I sold.

I don't usually say this man but, maybe you should take it to a shop and have them mount a brand new flywheel. It's easier for them cause they have a lift and such. Just watch them like a hawk

That was quick, your going to miss that torque. You should reconsider, I had a few challenges along the way, worked through them, but once sorted the car is very reliable and the engine is tough as nails.

Well if you get you an m20 you should go balls to the wall man. I bet you could be just destructive with a stroker turbo.

Motor has to come out regardless, crank is getting very chewed up along with the threads

The friction between the flywheel and crank surface basically is friction welding and digging holes from being loose, and the banging of loose flywheel being torqued around was deforming the thread holes. The problem is it breaks loose under a whole lot of torque and usually at high speed and I have to drive the car home and further damage it.

Ah so me thinks you destroyed threads on crank the first time it came loose and because you didnt replace crank it knocked it loose the second time cause the threads cant properly seat. new crank no more problems?
