With factory parts you end up with a ... stock E30. And who wants that? That's not the last or first wheel I've seen destroyed.

Im really curious what the final weight ends up being
It'll just be a figure "for now". My intention is to continue after I get a bit of driving done. More punch, less weight, better handling. <-Hopefully a project for every winter.

Look like some cheap rep wheels to me. Dont trust those, but I would trust factory wheels

I cant wait until this is all done. Im really curious what the final weight ends up being

    I can't remember the specifics.
Anyway, just about everyone else too has commented "WTF a spare tyre on that thing?" :D
And it's good to have a spare on board when driving to the E30-meet. In the past I've had to give mine to some young guy who destroys his rears due to shitload of camber wear :D
-I did leave the spare un balanced to save weight ;). No one in their right mind would drive fast anyway with a 145/80R14 in one corner.

    Surely it is.
This happened to a friend of mine a few years back during a trackday

That got me re-thinking the neccessary equipment on a car. I can always leave the spare at the pits when I'm on track.
Another thing.. Those spray-inside-the-tyre type repair foams clog the tyre valve, and I'd want to clean it off when I get the chance to repair a puncture properly. Proper repair meaning a patch istalled inside the tyre.

Tyres check. I weighed the rims and located them accordingly to each corner. While balancing them, I tried rotating tyres on rim do different positions so I'd get away with less of those glue-on weights. Not much success there..

Spare is a 145/80R14 regular tyre. Ofcourse, it can only be used on front axle because of it's slightly different radius. I put on stickers to remind myself about it.

    And there it sits

New O-rings to the sync screws

Individual vacuums connected to eachother, from there on the line goes through a filter and then divides to MAP sensor and fuel pressure regulator.

Between throttles 1-2 and 3-4 theres a distribution piece which was missing an elbow pipe. Can't be bought separately I believe and the distribution piece is NLA. So, a DIY solution

^Idle control valve connects to that.

One hose for ICV, the other for idle ajustment. If I remember correctly, the idle adjustment/check is done with a warm engine and with the ICV disabled.

Air intake system, work in progress

Engine wiring harnesses pretty much done. The idea is that the whole engine electrical system plus wiring can be assembled to the motor while it's out of the car

    ..they plug on to these

Nopeesti bmwfanssia kurkkaamalla, aika samanlaiselta näyttää kuin muissakin malleissa.
Tossa mun systeemissä nivel on korkeemmalla jolloin kepin saa rattia lähemmäs, ja alalenkki pystyy olemaan tosi pitkä ilman että ottaa kardaaniin. Mun setupissa on laatikonpään kiinnitys täysin jäykkä joten siinä on yksi välys heti pois.
