Its too hot and humid to work for more than an hour at a time today, but heres some small updates.

Got the headers on, but unfortunately I need to order a remote mount oil filter kit. I measured and for some reason though I could get away with the small one I bought, but turns out theres no way to make it fit.

Got my gas pedal mounted (excuse the tape, temp sealant)

    Got my interior finished!

Did the small fender mod to gain some wheel/ tire room, and help give the hot air off the brakes to exit:

And I've been hearing some people are having cooling problems with the swap. Solution? Racekor holes in bumper!

How so? Its built to race/ drive... Its going to a shop at the end of the build for a safety check, though I don't see how its half assed.

Its built for shits and giggles, and be driven :D

I know. Ive since attached it properly. The only way I think it can really be done and look decent is with side skirts.

The oil filter is why i went with it ran up. Was going to see if the e30 oil cooler fitting would thread onto the 5.0 but realized that would defeat the purpose of having an oil cooler because it would have to pass by the header anyways. It would point the filter away from the header tho.

Also i went with a merge and flange just before the subframe so i can drop the entire front section as 1 piece. Then snaked the 3" mandrel back under the mount and around the starter. This allowed me the ability to keep some flow and remove the pass mount and header to take that portion out to finish weld it (cant weld it all the way around even with the starter pulled out) and wrap the pipe in header wrap so i dont cook the steering rack and starter.

Btw if yours is half assed im not sure what mine is. Im running a fender heater mounted to the dash just to keep the window from fogging and my interior is completely stripped besides the rear parcel shelf and the dash/kick Panels.

Hmm... Good to know. And actually, the reason I tried flipping the headers was because I saw what you had done. Problem is, it gets right in the way of where my remote mount boost/ MC setup will be. So I gotta bite the bullet, and buy the remote mount oil.

And I still need to figure out a heater...

Bubby of mine had his inlet/outlet rerouted and rebrazed so they came out in a dif sPot on the firewall in his ls1 fc. U can also get a "hotrod" heater from mojave. And mount it wherever u want.

I dont need mine for heat since its not a daily. Only reason im running the fender mount is to keep the window from fogging being as this is washington and we drift rain or shine.

I totally understand that. I'm going to be dd-ing mine in Pittsburgh during the college year, so I'll check out that hotrod one you mentioned!

And thanks! 18 days till I need to have her on the road :)

First on this weekends agenda was to get the old diff out. It used to be a 4.10 lsd, but lately it turned into an open diff :rofl

                          In the air

After much cursing, the old diff out.

And new, 3.73 lsd. Not sure why its part blue...

Next, I wanted to clean up the main harness that runs through the engine bay. Not perfect, but looks much better to me.

                          Before:

                          After:

Its a bird, its a plane...

Next up, got the trans mount fab'd up.

My now finished bumper, waiting to get destroyed

And some interior shots with one of the shift nobs I have for it, just bought another though :)

Sometimes I look at updates I haven't seen and think "Wow, he's really got that thing on track" and then invariably I see something like the switches where the HVAC should be and I know it's still the same ol' Funfgan.
