You obviously didn't hear me explain it the two times before: I need the second passenger shorty to run the exhaust out the back. The only way its possible to do it with my car as low as it is, is to run a single pipe to the passenger side of the engine and out that way. I'm not doing a fender exhaust, I don't feel like burning cars when I let off the gas.
The only other way is to run the piping underneath the subframe. I need at least 2 1/2 inch piping, and I have about that much clearance, so thats obviously not happening.
I'm going to work on the mounts and paint the vc/ intake manifold and such, so some small updates tomorrow.Comment

Also, assuming I won't be able to run visors with the cage, anybody have any ideas for a windshield banner? Don't want an ///M or anything cheesy like that, just something that will give some sun protection. If worse comes to worse, I'll do a strip of dark tint.Comment

I've been checking this thread off and on so I don't remember mention of a cage going into the car before this. You're not planning to daily drive this thing with a cage are you?
If so, insert generic "daily driving with a roll cage is a bad idea" statement here.
For track only, the tint strip will work, or look into getting a tinted visor for your helmet.Comment

I've discussed this topic already with people who do track their cars on a regular basis. Decided its not stupidly dangerous. and yes, I mentioned a cage in other threads, not this one. Yeah, I have a few tinted visors for my helmet for track.I've been checking this thread off and on so I don't remember mention of a cage going into the car before this. I'm going to stick with the "daily driving in a car with a roll cage is an extremely bad idea."
No helmet on and you hit the bar (even with SFI-rated padding) and you're most likely done.
Are you going with fixed back seats and 5/6 point harnesses?
Also for your needs a full cage seems a little overkill. Why not a roll bar with fixed back seats and harnesses?Comment

I mean, he does have another car. It's not like he'll be driving it everyday. That would just be ridiculously annoying. More of a summer/track car as I have understood.
But I am with getting a full exhaust on if it will be driven on the street. Also, Stuart... I just thought about this, but you will probably not get past tech inspection for any track days unless you have a rear exiting exhaust (I was just reading up on this and some other requirments for track days such as HPDE)sigpic

If I find somebody who can print me one out, I will rock a giant fig newton on my windshield.
