Oh noes!!!!! Don't be such a dumbass.

Kerosene works the same to. But if it is stuck and gets unstuck, a rebuild is order anyways. And my buddy wanted $1000 for that 5.0 It's a fresh block with new cam bearings, frezze plugs, .030 over with forged speed pro pistons, new rods, no crank, or no heads.

Dumbass? Really? My M50 sat for 6 months, you better believe I put marvel mystery oil and let it sit for two days like that. Just because it sat for ten years doesn't render it useless, but there are just some preventative work you must do before ever turning it over.

              Pfft.....it's an American V8.

Throw some MMO in it and turn that sucker over.

Yeah i wouldn't pay that for it either. I think he is just adding everything up in the machine work and parts and trying to get his money back. It's not cheap to build anything anymore.

Yes, really. And I want to take a second and apologize to the rest of the forum seeing he is from PA. Not everyone is like him in this state  And who said the engine is usless after sitting for 10 years? I'm not a newbie to this whole car thing, and don't need some 19yo trying to act like he's teaching me something.

Engine had oil put in the cylinders every year(according to him). It definitely had a good amount of oil it when it was turned over, and I put oil in it a few days ago. Its just dead.

I'm hoping to find something obvious and not huge once I open it up, i.e., after some machining use it when I want to start building up an engine. But right now, and entire rebuild isn't in the cards. And If I'm rebuilding an engine, its being done right. Not rush.

Good luck with your adventure! And hope you dont find this when you deside to open it up!!!

That was my Firehawk when i bought it! I still have the block since its the original matching#'s to the car. But pretty obvious it needs some machine work if i'm ever to use it again.

Still didn't respond to what the post is about- Would you have done pre-crank maintainence before you turned the motor or not? G

                      And I'm 18 bud.

Thats cause you didn't ask me a question in that first post ;). But now that you have. Are you asking me about your engine or the 302? The 302, i would of. But your M50 and sitting 6mo. No i wouldn"t of. But thats cause you said it sat for that long and assuming you knew that was the time period it did sit.

And sorry about the age mixup.

Funfy, so how old were you when that engine last ran? Were you already in elementary school?
