I'm going manual with my setup. less clutter and from what I hear better feel of the brakes.sigpic

I'd love to go manual brakes but my wife loves driving my cars... So I gotta make it somewhat friendly to her.
I personally enjoy hearing her stories about putting the smack down on some hot headed kid in daddy's car.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

HAHAHA, that's epic! My wife father had a local Porsche shop when she was growing up. She took her first joy ride in a 944 turbo when she was 12 haha. My build is more track but she still wants to drive it. I'm going manual because I'm going to modify the firewall slightly to push the 5.0 back further for better weight distribution. I figured the less I have going on in the firewall the better haha.sigpic

In all honesty, it's not bad at all. If you modify the pedal it essentially has the same feel due to the modified ratio.
If you want, I'd be more than happy to meet up during a break of mine so you could drive the car in a parking lot just to get a feel for them. I'm running race fluid and carbon ceramic pads as well.Comment

Definitely let me know when you're in town. I'd love to meet up just to get a good look at the car. Man, and right after I bought my booster delete kit too.
Also, is it really not that bad Stuart? I mean, you didn't seem to have any problems braking when we went out, but when I did the math (used a 'brake force calculator' online) it said that the brakes would be waaaay underpowered, even with the increased leverage. Oh well, I guess I'll see when I'm done... whenever that isComment

I know the price is a bit more but I went with a wilwood reverse mount pedal set. You want to use 5/8 bore brake master cylinder's, clutch i still need to figure that out im thinking 5/8 or 3/4. I may have pedal boxes with firewall block off plate and brake lines available very shortly that will be very competitively priced time is getting hard to come by these days but its in the plans.
What you achieve:
More room in engine compartment
Adjustable front rear balance from driver seat
Adjustable bias if you add inline valves.
Proper brake leverage at the pedal 6.25:1
Great pedal feel
Room to adjust and grow with future BBK's

I actually sourced and ordered that part for Stuart. Let me see if I can go back and find it again.
There is a place that makes the specially for V8 bmw swaps, but that is almost twice as much as the one I was able to find.sigpic

Here is the "proper" flange u-joint to use made by JTR. It uses a dana 1310 series joint and has the proper pilot diameter.
Why You Might Need One. When doing a V8 swap into a BMW, the BMW U-joint is non-serviceable and requires special machining to replace. Stealth Conversion’s heavy-duty BMW driveshaft conversion flange has the same bolt pattern and pilot dimensions as the stock BMW driveshaft flange, but it uses the road-tested Dana 1310
I found this for Stuart. Way cheaper. Even though the diameter the pilot diameter for the part of the flange that goes into the diff is 1mm smaller so there is "essentially" play(just theoretically speaking, but not really) in the shaft, it has worked fine for Stuart. As long as you use the proper bolts to connect the DS to the diff, that should be fine and align it. Plus, I dont think 1mm(essentially 0.5mm all around on the diameter) would cause any driveline vibrations or issues. Yet again, Stu's trans is essentially hard-mounted at the moment.
