Remember how I said I was doing an M20 swap into my 318is? Well, I'm done, and it runs!!!

So: '87 325is to '91 318is, the C101 connectors simply plug together, no pins need to be moved. You will need to get power to the little white plug by the ECU though. No idea why BMW didn't run that through the main harness. Could make an awesome anti-theft cutoff switch location though.

That round cut out on the support pilar for the shock mount. It is a little warped can anyone confirm if this is normal or not as mine is also warped, and I think that is part of my shock tower being out of line.


Anyway progress looks good. The engine bay will look sweet as when you are done.

That is completely normal! Don't worry about it. I have seen millions of e30 strut towers and that is there on all of them haha.

If you want to see if your shock towers are out of line, take some measurements and see if its square?
