This project has been on a stand still as she awaits paint. I've been doing little things here and there. I received my BIMMERWORLD silicone boot for 3.5 MAF. I have to say that I am a little disappointed with what they have sent me. The lettering on the throttle boot has fading in it. I messaged them to know if they can send me a new one, still haven't got a response.
Also cleaned up as much as I could the exhaust heat shield. Came out well.
This week I was having a dilemma with the power steering lines so I went over to a local pick and pull, found a 325is and got the lines off it. Now that Im using a M52 pump, the connectivity between the rack and pump is a little different then other E36 models. So sooner or later I'll have to buy a high pressure hose for a M52 pump.
The cooler line that I got was all rusty and crappy. I love cleaning surface rust and painting.

Haven't had much going on lately as the car mechanically is done just waiting for the paint booth to be liberated. This update is basically summing up the last few weeks of things I've done or just random pics of what is going on at STRASSE AUTOWERKS.
Let me start off by showing the restore of old and crusty bumper supports. (finished product not shown)
This is my buddies MK2 GOLF GTI going for a shaved bay and R32 swap.
My floor carpet was initially grey, I didn't like at all. To be honest I hated it. Picked up some fabric paint, vacuumed and carpet cleaner before laying down two coats of black. Eventually I'll do the trunk deck as well.
Next up, I planned on the putting gauges in the car so instead of purchasing a pod, I made my own. Removing the ashtray, I took sheet metal and made something custom. It'll do the job once I get it wrapped up in some vinyl.
Buddies car is done and that means mine can come off the lift after 4-5 months of being mid air. Here are a few photos of both the projects in motion.
Finally some good shots nearing the end result!

Have you opted to run without abs? Sorry if I've missed it along the build, as I check it every other day or so lol...
swapping in an m52 starting in about 2 months and I'm super stoked. Soaking up all the info I can!
Love your build! Keep it up budComment
