I'm tucking my body harness " lights, flashers etc " I actually like having the engine harness covers in the bay. I find that it doesn't make the bay look "too" empty. Lets just say it keeps that sort of OEM feel a bit.

You sir have a lot of guts and I appreciate that. Good luck, hope to see pics of your bay!

Oh right on I can see your point there for sure especially if your going to run a strut tower brace then it just looks really clean with the wiring harness covers right there behind it. Sorry for all the questions I don't want to derail your build thread but first of all, how do you like the double sheer selector rod with stock shifter? I have been hovering over the add to cart button on that for a while now. Second, are you planning to retain the stock features such as air conditioning/heat? you would have to relocate the stock drier but if you routed everything and tucked as much as possible, it would be pretty baller.

I haven't driven the car yet but the DSSR feels tight and especially with the Z3M shifter, the pull between gears is short, solid and smooth. I think it's worth the money and you'll feel a difference, I can promise you that.

AC and heat are out. I welded plates over the holes where the AC and Heater core hoses ran through the firewall. I don't need that crap.

            Friday, January 11, 2013 --

Got my front bags today. My rear bags are on but not done, pics of the rear will follow soon.

I'm going to be installing mine a little different than the DIY that White325is has.
Instead of the using the adapter tube that comes with the kit, I started off by cutting the strut tube flush with the spindle. Then I messed around for about 1 hour cutting and grinding the inside of the spindle so the bag strut can slide into the spindle like they do on VW/AUDI applications. Once, the diameter of the spindle was wide enough, I slide the strut inside and voila. That'll be welded eventually.

I just need to clean up the spindles before they get welded.

Will these handle well for canyon carving?
I know in the muscle car world the co RideTech, claims theirs are just as adjustable & durable as Coilovers.
Either way, this is gonna be sweet!

^ i think for spirited driving, a proper air setup will be just as tossable and hold the road just as well as the standard spring/shock combo.. and probably better than most shitty coilovers.

plus you never have to worry about the oil pan!

With the strut shoved down in the spindle like that, how do you plan on being able to make adjustments on the damper? Seeing how the window on the outer strut tube is for the damper adjustment and you are eliminating it.

I've over looked the whole dampening aspect and now have realized that I will have no choice but to use the adapter tube.

I got her all wired up, cranked it without fuel for a couple of minutes and then she started easily. I took about 2-3 tries before she actually started. My friend which was filming ran out of space on his as soon as she started. So this is a video we took moments after.
It's currently running without a proper tune. Just basic Turner M50 chip that was in the ecu when I got it. She sounds good considering the fact that I've never rebuilt an engine nor have I ever timed a BMW Engine.
I love the backfire on the header.. Flame
