Stock ETA motor, 265k miles. I didn't touch the timing maps, just the fuel. I haven't had much experience with nitrous but from what I've read in the books, you want to retard a few *timing for every 45-50 hp increase, not sure if that's right but it seems to be a widely used opinion...Comment

Retard timing 2 degrees for every 50 hp shot of nitrous. Thats a basic to go by and doesnt always mean that you will be safe with that.Originally posted by TimKninjaRacelands are cheap shit.Originally posted by whodwhoSo are r3v members

Well in general could you tell me what could happen if I was to not retard my timing for a 65 shot? And also how do I go about retarding the timing? I've heard of the MSD digital 6 but idk much about it and how it works.Comment

If timing is not retarded, the possibility of preignition or detenation becomes greater. Cylinder temperatures start getting high and thats where you start melting stuff and burning holes through pistons. Especially if you are not running forged pistons. If done right though i think you should be able to spray the 65 shot though.Originally posted by TimKninjaRacelands are cheap shit.Originally posted by whodwhoSo are r3v members

Thanks but that still doesn't answer my other question? How should I go about retarding my ignition! If timing is not retarded, the possibility of preignition or detenation becomes greater. May be putting a chip which retards the timing?Comment

M20 distributors arent at all adjustible. Maybe they could if you tapped some holes but umm.
You could look for a crank driven one off a euro or 323 and adjust all you want.

as long as you have a control box that has a staged distribution and a rpm trigger, bottle warmer, and a wet shot, I see no reason 50-75 shot isnt fine on a stock motor. I have seen this same setup on M50,52, and 54 with no issues.Comment

buddy of mine ran a 100shot wet on his m20b25
colder plugs, bigger injectors
good for consistent 13.2 passes all day on shitty street tires.
cheapest go-fast mod, plus the bottom end on the m20's are tractor engines.
just give it.
bottle fill ups are costly.
used to run a 50shot of zex on my b16 crx
ka-boom.Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few timesComment

B16 what where you doing with a silly Honda! But yeah I think I'll be good to go with 65 shot of nitrous. I'll get a nice kick in it ;Pbuddy of mine ran a 100shot wet on his m20b25
