Awesome work, I personally just bought 50' foot of 2" tubing for a custom cage. Starting that build in a week.

How did you like that HF tubing notcher? Looks like it is MUCH better than a grinder.

Thanks. Have fun! It's a LOT of work. That tubing notcher is worth it's weight in gold. Don't even try to do it without one, it saves so muh time. You'll still need to use the grinder to clean up the cuts, or modify them for fitment.

Like e30's is an understatement lol. There's generally 10 or so at the shop on a daily basis.

Such a cool thread! I'm building a Spec E30 car, too, but I have no welder (or welding skils LOL!), so that part of the job will get farmed out.

                          Sept 28

A few buddies came by the shop & helped finish up the wiring.... The car was also blowing fuse 10 on startup, which turned out to be a grounded wire...

Installed the dash, there isnt much left underneath it.

                          Sept 30
I was running low on time, so the turbo car donated its already gutted doors.

Installed the gauge cluster, centernet & harness... for some reason my fuel gauge isn't working at all.

                          OCT 2
Once it was all together, our vinyl guy came by and installed the necessary decals for this weekend's event, and I took her home for the night.

                          OCT 3
Want to know what the best part about building a Spec E30? You can drive it to work :D

                          Check!

                          New rotors & Race pads?

                          Check!

                          13 lb wheels w/R-Comp tires?

                          Check!

Ready to kick some ass this weekend at the last NASA event @ Sebring?

                          CHECK!

                            OCT 5-7
loaded the car up on the trailer with the help of my friends.

We grabbed John's excursion, and a handful of us made the trek up to Sebring, Fl for a weekend of racing.

Our small caravan stopped for some lunch. All the e30's hit the track over the weekend...

After about 3.5 hours we made it to sebring, although it was in the pouring rain...

After unloading the #12, I took it to the NASA's tech station where the new Spec car passed, and I received my annual tech inspection sticker!

The next morning, all the racers were up bright and early preparing for a FULL day of racing.

We had a small spec group of only 4 cars this weekend, but that didn't stop us from having fun.

Condor's new Spec E30 made it through both practice sessions, Qualifying, 4 sprint races and a 2 hour enduro this weekend without a hitch... The junkyard motor is a bit underpowered, but what a great time! We had a blast with everyone who come out with us, and all of our track friends!

Yes from a cage builder in Richmond, VA. I was able to pick the door bar style and I made some additions to the rear down tubes.
