Fox doesn't have a shock that lines up with that and I'm going to have to make a mount that will lower the upper mount about .5". So the question is should i go with more droop or more bump :/

A 10" shock from fox is 16" comp is 26 ext
A 8" shock is 13.8 but only is 21.8 extended which is what I have already
    And there is an 8.5" 14.3 - 22.8
    Tough decision.

I always err on the side of more travel/higher lift rather than less travel/lower. I would rather have a 10 inch shock for 9.5 inches of travel and be forced to raise the car, than to have the shock be the limiting factor on travel. If the limit straps break, and the suspension pulls on the 8.5 shock, then you will ruin them real fast. Of course there are other problems with using the 10 inch shock and having more droop, like CV axle travel (my problem right now)

If you wanna get REALLY crazy you could make your own shock towers to raise the mount point a few inches. I've been seriously considering cutting off the top of the shock towers HIK Fabrication made me for this very reason.

Edit: Upon further measurements, I'm almost certainly going to be raising the shock towers. Dangit!

Edit #2: Bilstein 5165 shocks have a 9.4" travel with a 14.2/23.6, and a 9.8" 14.6/24.4. And they are bushing mounted so they might even fit right into the stock mounts! http://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/bilstein_5165.cfm

Took the bimmer out again. Found a neat technical trail with lots of steep climbs. I need to build a skid plate for the fuel tank next because i hit more than once. The vert springs really made a difference and there is almost no rubbing even with a passenger in the back seat.

Still haven't dropped the tank to find out where the leak is, filler neck is fine, filter area is fine, removed both covers under the rear seat and that was dry also

Az Rally cross this weekend, got first place. Car ran well. Subframe mount started to fall off and got a pretty good crack. Time to do the subframe bushings.

Nice finish! I'd love to have a shot at a dry and flat course.

It is definitely very dry here and the water doesn't last long. I'm hoping our next event in July will have some rain
