So, I was bored the other day at the garage and decided I would start working on something that will be put to use in the future. I plan on adding oil temp and pressure gauges, but being that they are pretty important I wanted them up high where I could see them. I plan on removing one of the two center vents and using that space for the two gauges.
My high tech CAD* stuff to cutting into a spare door pocket I had (for that OEM texture 8) ). Im not close to done yet, but figured I would show you what Ive been up to.
Oil Temp gauge is an old VDO one from my racecar parts bin. Still need to get that "warning mark" off, but Im a little worried about scratching the lens. You can see my CAD template on the side

Got a little excited when I was making the hole, so I used some random o-ring to let it seal better
Still need to buy the Oil Pressure gauge, the senders, and then the MZ3 oil filter housing.
Who wants to sponsor me so I can buy car parts?

There are several good ideas in that thread, but with the ODB + remote mounting parts approacting $100+ and the TRM also being $100+ VS ~$200 for a factory MZ3 part, Im leaning towards the factory part.... In case you havent noticed, I try to give myself peace of mind because I tend to break stuff that doesnt usually break for other people.Simon

So, Ive been having a weird issue since I went to Seattle for a few days.
-I didnt drive the car for ~3 days (Friday Night, 3/20 - Monday Morning 3/23) and it wouldnt start after. Tried getting a jump, charging the battery, etc and nothing. Then once I got towed home, I trickle charged the battery overnight and the next day (3/24) it started and drove fine.
-A few days later (3/28 ), I drove it to my garage ran inside to take care of something quickly and not even 15 minutes later I tried to start the car and it wouldnt start. And even with a jump it wouldnt start. Trickle charged for an hour then it started. Drove it a few times Saturday, no problem then didnt drive it Sunday.
-Monday (3/30) it wont start again. Didnt need to drive it until today, so I let it trickle charge but its still not starting. Im beyond frustrated....
I searched common issues last night and apparently the trunk light can drain the battery, and I know I recently tried to do the dual light conversion, and I checked and sure enough one of the two bulbs was very dimly lit. Pulled both bulbs last night hoping that was the drain and then today, still nothing.
I even took the battery to O'Reillys (where I bought it from) and they are telling me that the battery is fully charged. I dont know anymore....Simon

Sounds like it's time to pull fuses and use a multimeter across their connectors to check for current draw.

If your battery is fully charged then maybe something intermittent like a failing fuel pump? Was the car dead when you went to start it and wouldn't crank or it just would not start?How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows
