OK guys I am seeking help now. Last night I planned on putting the engine in the car. When i went to mate the trans it did not work. The input shaft one didnt look like it fit at all and it hit the rear main before the bell housing. What trans do I have?
this is what came up with the vin sticker on the trans.

    VIN WBACB3313NFE01673
Vehicle Accidents/Service Get Vehicle History Report NOW
    Year 1992 Engine Type 2.5L L6 DOHC 24V
    Make BMW Driveline RWD
Model 3-Series Ground Clearance No data in.
Trim Level 325i Front Brake Type Disc
Manufactured In GERMANY Rear Brake Type Disc
Body Style SEDAN 4-DR Anti-Brake System 4-Wheel ABS
    Transmission 5-Speed Manual
    Standard Seating 5
MPG Hwy 25 - 26 miles/gallon Optional Seating No data
    MPG City 18 miles/gallon Tires 205/60R15
Dealer Invoice No data USD Wheelbase 106.30 in.
MSRP $27,990 USD Curb Weight 3098 lbs

Also the flywheel did not fit over the dowel pin on the rear main. I guess im asking what do I need to make this work? e30 flywheel clutch and pp? e30 bell housing? or whole new trans? Here are some pictures of the trans and numbers.

BTW here is how the engine looks in the bay. Im going to have to shift the MC a little no big deal though.

Yeah I'm going to leave it open like the e28... but I would like to vent the front opening out through the top of the rear flare right over the tire. Then vent the rear with some quarter window nacaducts

I wish the pictures worked for me. I can't see them in chrome or IE. Stupid work computer.

yesssss.... at least you don't have to worry about skinning the rear doors to do so, unlike my car.

So do you see yourself trying to make a mould of the fenders? Not sure if I would do so with the quarters since that would involve chopping, welding, then chopping again, but the fenders do bolt on/off. What's the worst that could happen?

Granted though, this forum does have spellcheck... but really, when I see updates on this thread, I'm very disappointed to find it's people bitching about spelling instead of real updates. Namely pictures of a widebody conversion. Just sayin.

I wasn't the author of that thread - I wish I was though. That's one kickass car. Also, zero plastic/fiberglass fabrication experience on this end.
oic. well I will be getting going on the wide body more soon. I'm waiting on my other three bbs to come back from the sand blaster so I can reassemble them. Then Ill start chopping up the rear.

Just remember this is a build. Nothing is set in stone until its finished. I could decide tomorrow hey screw the wide body I want a limo that's pink and has a hot tub in the back; but until I actually do it its just something on the drawing board. If you aren't interested in seeing changes or hearing ideas I have then don't read them. And that goes to anyone who has issue with they way I operate. This is my car, Ill do as I please. But that doesn't mean I wont post updates for anyone interested in whats changing.

Its just confusing to me that the way I type has any merrit to the work that I have presented. I clearly am not asking any questions im proceeding with my work because i know what I want and I know what I'm doing. Though it is constant criticism from people such as yourself on the work anf ideas i have. Especially when they are comments that are coming from people who clearly dont know what they are talking about. I havent "bragged" about anything I have done. Am I proud of it? Yeah anytime you can dedicate this much work into something that is a passion you will be. I have done a lot of work on steves old e46 and you naysay. "Bragging about a car that is bought" screw you man I have a lot of hard work in that car. Just as I do the e30

I don't see how control over the English language has any relevance to the outcome of my fabricating or mechanical abilities. This website is for cars and the building and sharing of information on that subject. If i wanted to spend more time out of my day typing everything grammatically correct I would go to a forum for English majors. I don't ever have time to be on the computer so most of my updates come via cell phone. My fingers are too wide to type everything perfect when I'm using buttons the size of a pea, Nor do I care to go back and fix everything. But to paraphrase you, in that it is your belief that in order for people to "take my build serious" I must type everything out so you can tell what tone is intended and have everything polished; then so be it. I will try my best to be as scholarly as possible.
