Light weight starter @ 8.5 lbs vs original starter @ 15.5 lbs.



Trans on, starter on, quick and dirty wiring harness.










At this point the engine is complete except for installing the distributor, plug wires, plugs, and heater hoses.





I'm having a problem with the fan belt not fitting my fancy aluminum pulleys. I thought i was doing the right thing buying a genuine porsche belt but apparently not. Hencho en Mexico FML.

Gonna order a conti belt and hope that works.

Got a lightly used Conti belt from a friend and it works perfectly! He told me the current hencho en mexico porsche belts are too short even for the stock pulleys, at least until they break in which puts a lot of stress on the alternator and the not so beefy magnesium fan housing.
