I can try I didn't like how it's mounted so I'm going to remove it and re install it using the stock parts and such. I scored a whole ac system for free from a buddy.

About a week ago i replaced my timing belt on my M20. I am still working on getting the fan to work on the stock temp harness. Im thinking it wont work unless i get a duel speed fan. The one i got is just one speed. but when it kicks on it seriously kicks down the temp.

As for my project i recently got a Ryan GMW front splitter. Getting the Lip soon. yes i know i did that backwards shush. But after that i will be completely be redoing my braking system. New German made brake disks ( im that picky ), caliper rebuild, Steel lines, new master cylinder with a bigger bore, and yes new brake fluid ATE super blue.I havent decided what pads to get yet. If you have any suggestions let me know. Please dont suggest something you havent actually used. I can read reviews as easily as you can.

As soon as my brakes are done im going to then focus on exterior parts more. Wheels body work and such.

If anyone has the rear black trim and rear side markers for late modle bumpers? I dont mind oxidation its simple enough to reverse. But i would like it to be mountable.

Also i ran into a guy who had an all aluminum radiator from ebay. A company called CX Racing made it. He said it works vary well. He said he had a e36 with a Mishimoto and he said it performed just as good. I am just wanting to know if anyone else has anything to say of this radiator that costs like $130.00. Is it any good or is it shit?

Here are some pics of the engine i grabbed

            the donor car

The engine as it sat in the 735i

Pulled it out and started taking off everything i didnt need

Ready to load up and take it home

yeah this engine was sitting for a good long wile before i came to it. I am thinking the car may have had an overheating issue cause ALL of the cooling parts looked relatively new.

it was sitting for a long time and its kinda hard to argue with $90 for a engine. even if i need to replace a lot of stuff i still have a head and block.

So i decided that i have the engine im waiting on an engine stand ......lets start on the body work. So i got some good quality body filler and went to work. Here is what i ended at for the day.

to explain why there is such a large cover area is cause there where a series of small dents and they where dang near side by side.

So i started the tear down on the engine last night i took a few pics. I was more curious what the damage was to the engine and i got to say i am one lucky SOB with this. My suspicion was right. All that was wrong was a head gasket. I am still going to rebuild the engine for obvious reasons but as far as best case scenarios this is a pretty good one for an engine that only cost me $90.00.

Comparing the two wow what a differance

                          Valve train looks healthy

Well im going to get new valves anyway haha

can you guess where the head gasket blew

                          well thats surprising

                          looks cool haha

                          Not so cool yuck

it looks cracked but its not its a rust stain. Im going to have them cleaned and inspected at my local machine shop and see if i can reuse the current pistons i doubt it though.

Close up shot the cam dosnt have any scars at all.

And im going to be throwing the head in a cover and throw it on a shelf till i can send it in to bimmerheads for them to do what they do best. So in my down time i will be doing the body work to the car ripping the paint off using body filler on a few small dings on the car. There is one dent on the driver side door thats just too deep to even think about trying to get at with body filler so i will do one of three things, Pay a shop to pull the dent out, do it myself with some guidance from my friends dad, or just say fuck it and replace the door. Replacing the door may be cheaper but more work than paying a shop.

$90 is a steal for that engine. Good luck.

Thanks for all the positive feedback this is my first engine rebuild and swap so I'll be taking it kinda slow but so far it's looking good I'm going to remove the wire harness and the injectors from the manifold have the injectors cleaned so I can clean up the manifold and paint it haven't decided on the color yet.
