    Back in the garage...

Took the red/blk wire loop out of the door connector by splicing it out. Once I connected the wires something clicked in the central locking unit or interior light module. Good sign??

This might be the problem. Central Locking Unit.

Turned my attention to the stereo system.

Got a new sub amp. 600w Kenwood to replace my old 500w Alpine.

Also got new 3 new Stinger RC cables and routed them on the drivers side hopefully to eliminate the whining that matches the RPMs when they vary.

Headed back into the bimmer cave now!

    All new everything

    Rigged up

    Torqued to 74 ft/lbs.

UPS should be delivering the SS slave cylinder line today. I'll get that installed and bleed the system. Tomorrow the DSSR should be here. More than likely will have to sand down the selector to make it work.

After that all I'll have to do is:

    - Drive shaft

    - Diff and axel

    - Change oil

    - Turbo gasket

    - Cut the tial BOV spring a little

    - Shifter gasket thing, boot and ZHP knob

Took a wire wheel to my drive shaft to clean off the rust and put a coat of rust treatment on it. Flat black rattle can to come tomorrow.

Getting my linkage ready for the Evo3 shifter.

    Popped the turbo off.

    To fix this

New drivers latch and torx bolts mounted.

Is this my Central Locking Unit that has the internals exposed?

Any idea where this wire/plug goes?

What about this white/red wire? In drivers kick panel.

    Thanks for looking!

Here is the link to my daily e46 M3. Need to switch the pre-cat O2 sensors I think. http://www.wibimmers.com/board/index...journal/page-9

I am heading down to Chicago for an e30 spring meet up this Saturday with my e30.

On the 6-8 hour to-do list that will get me on the road:

    - shift linkage, evo3 short shifter and Dssr

    - trans mount with stock e21 bushings

    - driveshaft
    - take e36 CSB off and install new OEM CSB.

    - install diff

    - install new OEM drivers door b-pillar latch and make it workable (door currently does not shut).

    - install new t3 gasket on the turbo. The current one blew out.

    - DRIVE!!!!

Had to take the pressure plate off and re-align the clutch disks after wrestling with the trans and not getting it to the honey hole. I had a couple buddies swing by for some beers, NCAA ball and a little wrenching.

Melted the red loc-tite to remove the nuts when the studs came out. Reinstalled the studs with blue loc-tite and snugged them in. We then cleaned up the threads with a wire brush and a pick for the install.

After a ton of finessing she popped in!

I love my zip ties. I was thinking that the ice pick method would result in less debris in the motor. Pelican has you drill a small hole... I need to get some rubber bands around that handle to up my street cred.

Any tips on aligning the clutch disks with the alignment tool, anyone?

I thought I saw one but didn't look too hard. I'll double check tonight. I guess it wasn't meant to be installed for that reason!

I prepped the trans for install last night. Took some 0W oil and sloshed it around in the trans to flush it out a bit. Here are the results of the first and second flushes.

    First go.

About half as much debris on the second round.

    My custom trans stand.

After this I tired to get the trans in but could only get past the first clutch disk. I need to pull the pressure plate and re-align the disks while slightly applying upward pressure during tightening. This should solve the issue and if not I'll get my buddy over to muscle it in. #getthebillytool
